I can't listen to Dalrymple, his voice is peak pomposity
I get what you mean but he is very bright bastard
The Hill programme confirmed that he is about as far removed from the prejudices we draw from his voice as it is possible to be.
Reckon he'd be a very entertaining guest at a long luncheon, with a few bottles of chablis

Anyone listening to the NZ Herald's Rainbow Warrior podcast? It's very good, especially their knack for getting access to important human and document sources. Same people who did the Mr Asia series.
No. But sounds like it's worthwhile. Might give it a go (and Mr Asia).
Thanks for the heads up

Suited the dual citizenship of co-host John Daniell perfectly. He got access to the French perspective that NZ journos could never have got, simply through his connections and his fluency in French.

I love that you both consider this “long” at 1hr 20mins. Guess that explains why Rogans 3hr podcasts couldn’t crack the Top 100 pods of all time list recently!
That’s not a dig at either of you btw, I love that you both watched this and shared it - it’s one of the best interviews I’ve seen on this subject. I’d love my wife and kids to watch the video, but they probably wouldn’t spend the time. The minute that the POV didn’t match exactly with theirs, I reckon they’d turn it off. Sad!

I've been listening to an interesting podcast called 'valley of depth'. Goes into some fascinating topics with founders. Really interesting stuff I wouldn't usually learn about - pulse fusion, station keeping large dirgibles (this could be massive for us), float/foil/fly transportation, project management software for space industry.
Been really interesting, strong recommend based on what I've heard so far.
This one blew my mind. The founder comes from a materials backgroudn, created the life straw and then a malarial net that dropped African malarial cases by 50% or so. Fascinating - they ahve cracked the powerloop day/night and are now working on endurance (disclaimer: they 'say' - but that's for all of this stuff).

How the fuck does anyone listen to that? 3 hours is ridiculous.
Yeah, it's not for me - the length or the style. But you can't deny the popularity of the bloke!
