it's funny to me that a year ago the coaches were getting dragged for picking Sam Cane to do the shit work that Savea doesn't do all because he was getting a bit slow in the foot. And now the realisation has sunk in why he was getting picked.

Post mccaw , three different allblack coaches picked him to start at 7 when he was available, he had his haters but he must have been doing something right.

Well for one thing I don't think you'd ever have people questioning whether Sam Cane gave up.

I’d love Razor to just bite the bullet and chuck this backline out against the Wallabies (assuming Hotham is out injured again)

    1. Kyle Preston
    2. Ruben Love
    3. Leroy Carter
    4. Quinn Tupaea
    5. Leicester Fainga’anuku
    6. Will Jordan
    7. Jordie Barrett

Would like to see how Jordie would go at fullback.

    With a forward pack of:

    1. Ethan De Groot
    2. Codie Taylor
    3. Pasilio Tosi
    4. Tupou Vaii
    5. Fabian Holland
    6. Peter Lakai
    7. Ardie Savea (c)
    8. Wallace Sititi

Three years out from the World Cup who gives a fuck if we have to go backwards to go forwards. Try shit out, get the young talent in for experience.

I’d rather have 3 midgets than a guy that moves in slow motion.

One thing that has to be said - in terms of giving some praise where praise is due - is that.defensively this year Jordie Barrett has saved the ABs asses time after time.

He had a try saver in Wellington v France, another try saver in Hamilton the week later. He stopped Kolbe scoring in the first half on Saturday and stopped Kolisi after he trucked over Will Jordan in the build up to Kolbe's try early in the second half.

Jordie is bailing this defence out in every test.

Good to see there is some criticism of Ryan now. For a while it was impossible to post even the slightest criticism without wagons being circled

To be clear I'm not saying he's terrible.. just that there needs to be some rational assessment of what has actually happened not just repeating the fluff that is written about him by our deeply flawed rugby media

Ryan is in his forth season as forwards coach. How would you sum up those four years? I would call them schizophrenic. A couple of high quality performances followed by a shit the bed performance. Our cleanout work in particular is widely inconsistent. Three losses to Argentina, poor record against SA.. good thing the Aussies have struggled so much

LF distributed really well for Ta$man on the weekend at 12 and when in the wider channels, plus caused chaos in what has been a very sound Canterbury defence.
Ennor not everyones cup of tea but probably the best distributor in NZ atm.
I am not saying pick them both but interesting when you look at how you want to play.

Some hard lessons for Robertson and co and they would do well to listen to a few old heads. I’m an optimist (still a Warriors supporter since day 1 so know the ugly territory well), but I think there is a few things that can be changed immediately that will impact positively on the infield performance, but some other things that will take some time to flush away and stabilise.

    Immediate changes:
[Broken record] We need a change at 10. So much happens there on both sides of the ball and Beaudie’s not doing the basics that have the team moving forward consistently.

[Broken record 2] Loose forward mix - Sititi or Savea. One or the other, not both. It’s not so much a size issue but the way they play. It’s too same same. We need points of difference as well as the key roles being made. Look back to France as an example - Vaa’i, Ardie, CLW - three quite different players but can complement relative strengths. A 6 that has size, lineout abilit, skill in the wider channel but loves to hit rucks. An 8 that just tackles all day and hits rucks. No frills type. And Ardie at 7 who wants to get his hands on the ball and is excellent in support. If Savea is to be picked as the VC, Vaa’i, Savea, Parker could be an option. But Savea’s inconsistency along with Scooter’s is problematic. I’d take Jacobsen, Blackadder or even Papali’i to provide that point of difference.

Even when the Henry and Hansen teams had their downs, our leaders tended to still play well. Cody is probably our only leader that is playing well despite inconsistent results and other individual performances.

There are other individual selections here and there that can be argued could’ve made some difference (Clarke’s non-selection, Tosi not on the bench, Finau being persisted with, Reece and Narawa) but the above needs a reset/rethink for the on field to change but also signal change is occurring.

Based on what? At least Proctor's SR form demanded he be given an opportunity.

If you think three small loose forwards are well suited to Test rugby, you're better off posting on reddit.

I cant help but think about the clip of Harry Wilson in extra time against Arg last week when they had just won a penalty. Thinks for a moment, looks at his team, points directly at the corner then turns around and screams at his forwards with belief.

The guy is 25 years old, 20 something caps. Has been there through some fucking shit wallabies seasons over the past few years. Lifted the team. Not that hes the perfect player but fuck it feels like something the all blacks need. I dont know who could bring that for us, but it feels like its not there.

I feel like everyone thinks ardie is like that, but i actually dont think ardie would believe in his team as much as he just believes in himself. Jordie to be fair plays with his heart but Im not sure hes up for bossing his older brothers/older team mates around like he needs to. I dont know. Roigard really seems like that kind of no-nonsense operator and works fucking hard, but needs to keep fit for a while first.

@DurryMexted Savea believes in himself the way that one guy in social touch or flag football does — the selfish type who never passes, tries low-percentage trick moves he saw on YouTube and strolls back on defence. What this team needs is a tough-as-nails workhorse who’ll get stuck in and won’t hesitate to get in the ref’s ear — but no one like that exists right now.
