    Dark Winds.

Good so far an episode and a half into it.

The Indian guy from Fargo is great as the Indian police chief.

The Killing Kind (TV Series 2023) ⭐ 5.9 | Mystery, Thriller

The Killing Kind (TV Series 2023) ⭐ 5.9 | Mystery, Thriller

The Killing Kind: With Emma Appleton, Colin Morgan, Elliot Barnes-Worrell, Olivia D'Lima. A barrister defends a man against stalking charges, only for him to turn on her.

Like most dramas it has plenty of ‘why the fuck are you doing that?’ moments but overall a very decent watch with a very believable cast

    Started watching Alien Earth.

Deep space vessel returns (crashes) to Earth carrying collected Alien life forms including a version of the original Alien itself with a couple of eggs. Who brought them back? Who now owns it? Can they even be controlled?
Doesn't follow some of the historical jump scare type of sci fi horror action you expect at every turn, but rather focuses on the type of scare new alien creatures can provide with the occasional jump scare thrown in. Is the Alien that we gave seen the worst of whats out there?

and who doesn't like a little octopus?

4.5 Weyland Yutani's out of 5 hybrids so far

its a shame the final has come so soon, so many ways this could play out, I guess thats what future seasons will be for. Hopefully they ramp up the action for a finale though like they did with the latest episode

Agree, took a couple episodes for me to warm to it. Hoping they pull it off in the finale and we then dont have to wait 3 years for season 2..

Hopefully gonna smash a few episodes of this with my boys this weekend. Wikipedia tells me that it’s set in 2 years before Alien in an ‘alternate timeline’ !?!?

Can one of you fern geeks sci fi enthusiasts who has watched it explain further ?

that is what Gen AI is for

Alien: Earth is set in the year 2120, placing it just two years before the original Alien film, which takes place in 2122. That makes it a direct prequel to Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic, and the first live-action installment in the franchise to be set primarily on Earth.

Here’s how it fits into the broader Alien timeline:

    Title Year Set
    Prometheus 2093
    Alien: Covenant 2104
    Alien: Earth 2120
    Alien 2122
    Aliens 2179
    Alien 3 2180
    Alien Resurrection 2379
The series explores the early spread of Xenomorphs on Earth, corporate power struggles, and introduces new hybrid synthetics—all while setting the stage for the doomed Nostromo mission. Think of it as the Rogue One of the Alien universe: gritty, tense, and deeply connected to the original lore.

    Ah righto. Makes sense.

Someone needs to make a movie to round out the Prometheus trilogy. I want to know what happened to David

Just realized you missed out Alien Romulous 2142

again the maker of Alien Earth has said hes not taking the events of movies outside of Alien and Aliens especially Prometheus and Covenant (and likely Romulus)
he calls it a parallel universe.
