@Canerbry Jordie can stay, but yeah I agree Scott and Beauden need to be thanked and wished all the best in their future as former All Blacks.

I wouldn’t mind Ardie as captain, he seems to win a lot more than Scott.

    Referee was erratic.
Time for DMac to start permanently at 10. About 9 months too late.
Shows how we missed Roigard, Holland and Pat T vs the Springboks.
    QT very good.
Holland is a ball supply unit. Needs to start.
Carter going well. Exactly what we need.
Some of the Australian handling was superb.
Biggest moment of the match, Savea turnover. An absolute life saver.

I thought Clarke played well, just did the basics, rather him at 11 than Ioane.

He’s a winger, not a 13 that used to play wing. Ioane selection smacks of wanting to keep him in the side because he’s on a AB contract.

If a player isn’t good enough or has to find form, drop them and give them feedback. If they are hungry enough and good enough, they’ll be back.

All Blacks used to be about being at the pinnacle of talent and form.

Selection is subjective and always has been under any coaching group. Plenty of players have been given time in an AB camp to regain form

The blessed life of the Barretts only gets disrupted by injury.

As you say, this isn't something you wish on any player but if the ABs go to Perth and Jordie is the last one there doesn't the team just look better overall ?

Beauden and Scott have done some terrific things in Black but when was the last time either of them did ? It's time to move on from them.

@sparky Jordie wasted a 50/22 with a classic unforced Barrettism.

@Jet Hasn't been the same player since he left the Hurricanes.

That's probably that for his All Blacks career. He was part of the golden 2013 undefeated year and the magical 2015 World Cup win and he was a great player for most his tenure. A shame he went on too long.

I have a feeling Scott has been playing injured. But if he has, that is a black mark against the coaches.

Beauden is 34 and a (should be outside) back whose effectiveness has always had a lot to do with acceleration and pace.
Scott is a 31 year old lock, he may well still have plenty to offer.

I'm not the biggest Darry fan but the ABs could definitely use him in the squad. The starting duo of Vaai and Holland just doesn't have enough bulk and starch.

Wouldn't discard Scott Barrett as a player - just as a captain

Another example of a worrying selection in our forward pack - just like persisting with Sititi at 8 this season when clearly he needs a reset/spell out of the team and to come back.

    about 115kg and over 120kg respectively ? really ?

Disclaimer: I'm completely guessing those weights.

Well I guess my point is they dont play like it

    They dont use their bulk

Numbers can say one thing and the eye test says another - just like how I dont really give a fuck if Nic Gill wants to come out and tell everyone how fast Rieko is - he clearly doesn't have the same pace and explosion as he used to.

On Beaudy, what made him so effective was his acceleration and gas which made him such a deadly threat at the line. Unfortunately he no longer has that so he’s not as impactful for us compared to someone like DMac who still has it.

@Canes4life he also has shy-ed away from contact compared to earlier years - understandable given the concussion issues he had but doesn't mean he should get a free pass and keep getting selected. He was starting to lose form more than 2 world cups ago. Just crazy stuff.

I can't even tell if Beauden still has any pace or acceleration, because he's not even trying to use it. He's walking and shovelling. At times it's reminiscent of watching Sexton play in the last 10 minutes before his retirement
