@Dan54 I'd def recommend getting them re-gripped at the least, most standard sized grips arent really ideal for most men regardless of your level, I have mid-size with 2 layers of tape.
Interesting on the regrips mate, a few of the guys at club swear by bulkier or thicker grips too.
Anyway have brought myself some hybris irons, ot really hybrid more a crossover. Really love the feel, light shafts and quite heavy (it seems) in head. As there no driving ranges etc around here, (and I don't practice anyway) I have only tried them once and I think they will be good. Certainly getting ball in air etc a lot better. Mind you when I played with them last Sunday (our club's comp day) it was so bloody windy it was hard to get real impression.
I laughed , I have a 3 wheel ride on buggy, for when I do 18 holes, and I got off and was about to play a shot, looked up and buggy was being backward by wind!!
Actually wondered about my sanity, getting out for 18 holes again in that weather, as over winter I usually just stick to Wednesday Wackers we have at club over 9 holes. The wind was so bad, we were genuinely struggling to stand in it at times, one hole I putted missed, and the wind blew ball back into the hole.
Funnily enough, really got me quite keen again though, so torture time will be happening more from now on! -
No mention of the Ryder Cup??
I fizz for this like the majors.
Europe the stronger team IMHO but always so hard to win on away soil. Yank crowd is annoying as hell but Europeans hanging tough and 3-1 ahead after morning foursomes. Some real interesting golf and surprised to see JT back out there after not being able to sink 4 footers.
Sitting 2-2 almost half way thru the arvo fourball rounds.
Bethpage Black not looking super tough for these guys. Suspect tees aren’t pushed as far back as the could be to make it more of a spectacle. More birdies = more yahoos and chants

Love the Ryder Cup. I thought this would be an easy win for America given how many golfers they have in the world's top 20.
A long way to go, but a great first day for Europe who have only won the competition four times on US soil.
-
Day One highlights.
-
Fantastic morning for Europe. Wow!
-
Great contest between Henley/Scheffler and Hovland/MacIntyre.
-
And a massive win for Europe on the last hole to extend their lead to 8 1/2 to 3 1/2.
At the half way stage, Europe need 5 and a half more points from possible 16 in the last day and a half to retain the Ryder Cup.
-
Good on him, better still, he hit it stiff too.
-
Looking at the highlights and some other stuff on SM, seems the US fans think this is a LIV event.
I'm all for the sport livening things a bit, but some of the jingoistic USA, USA bs is tiresome.
-
It got nasty out there but Europe stood firm.
Europe lead 11 1/2 to 4 1/2. Europe need three points from a possible 12 in the Singles to win the Ryder Cup for only the fifth time on American soil.
-
First time Europe has won all four paired sessions away from home.
-
-
America win the first two matches, both on the last hole, lots of red on the board. This would be one hell of a comeback.
-
Another American win.
Are Team Europe about to do the biggest choke in the history of sport?
