I'd be more worried about the golf courses.

Sorry lol let me rephrase that 'no one here in Perth gives a shit if we get beaten' 😉

That old constipated West Australian diet...

I think I saw Caleb Clarke pulled up better than expected and was well enough to travel to Perth so that sounds somewhat positive.

Looking forward to seeing the backline without Beauden at 10

I think Scott Barrett could add some grunt at lock if he is fit - I suspect they may revert to Vaai at 6 if so.

I would take the opportunity to rotate Sititi out of the 23 but I doubt that happens.

@KiwiMurph was Clarke an ankle sprain? If so, depending on whether it’s a high ankle sprain might determine his ability to run freely.

Jordan and Carter will be retained.

Jordie basically played 1st receiver more than DMac, allowing DMac to roam a bit more where he is dangerous.

Early in the match Jordie dropped back to the right wing defensively for kick receptions.

I suspect they will retain Proctor.

    Hopefully Love on the bench.

First time in a long long time where we're going into a test against the Wallabies thinking we'll get tipped over (probably 20 years I would say).

I can think of a fair few where my optimism waned and some of those we lost and some we won.

    • the Bledisloe test in 2007 at the MCG where Lucky was selected at centre
    • the Sydney 2008 test or better known as the ‘Robbie Deans anthem’ test
    • Brissy 2011
    • Dunners 2013 - no McCaw and Kaino, but we were able to scrape out a win
    • Brissy 2017 - newish look forward pack and combinations in the backline.

Out of that lot, maybe the 08 Sydney test was in the air, but i still backed us that night. 09 Sydney test is another, but other than that, I went into those other matches mentioned still expecting us to win, mainly because we always won in those years haha.

Why am I so worried that Robertson's squad will spend most of the week "having fun in Perth"

The west coast surfing is good I hear.

    Not so much in Perth.

The west coast is rather large.

@NTA maybe if he goes surfing and leaves them to sort themselves out?

That could be a permanent solution... 🦈

I’d personally like to see some calculated risk taking with selection.

Start Tupaea at 12 and bench Jordie. He can come in at business end. Gains some valuable minutes and we get to see what he can do starting.

Likewise, start Lakai at 7, with RD at 8. Perhaps rest Wally and have Luke J on bench.

Jordie was the second best player on the pitch. No sure we ever want to bench him. Tupaea has a serious case of hero ball and needs that to be fixed before he gets regular minutes.

@jimmyb you can play Tupaea for 45 and Jordie for 35 and not lose a huge amount. His hard carries would be a useful tactical variation.

Starting outside DMac would be a good opportunity to ask QT to show us how he can play a mature game.

And without JB as lynchpin perhaps they’d pass a bit more to Proctor.

Rassie has developed depth by letting his newer players have some responsibility. It’s worked well.

As in he’d rather go for glory than putting in a sensible pass or put his team mates into space. He did it a few times on the weekend, numerous people pointed it out, and was a serial offender during SR

    There’s risk taking and there’s borderline stupidity…..

We don’t have too many backs in decent form and Jordie is one that is. Plus I wouldn’t want to have DMac starting without Jordie as a playmaking option.

If Clarke doesn’t recover they could start Love at fullback with Jordan and Carter on the wings.

Huh, not something I've noticed. He has a habit of making big plays though.
