Damn. I was wondering why Pyrenees Boyle-Tiatia hadn't been playing for the Waikato U19s. He has signed for Bayonne.

Bayonne have also already signed the Australian winger Declan Minto so perhaps they had some scouts at last yearโ€™s Global Youth Sevens, as both he and Boyle-Tiatia played in the tournament.

I have mixed feelings about the signing. I think Boyle-Tiatia is a player with great potential so youโ€™d hope he isnโ€™t lost to NZ rugby for good. Then again, with question marks about the NZR player pathways at the moment, this should be a good test case to see whether the French academy system can get more out of its players.

Best case scenario is he adds some more strings to his bow, gets early exposure to the Top 14 and returns a much more complete player. Worst case... Well, I guess we all know what the worst case scenario is.

@Bovidae Makes sense. Bayonne is quite close to the Pyrenees.

He could have been born in France when Ace was playing there.

As much as I hate seeing players go overseas I understand this all around and hope he makes some good dollars/yen.

Harry Inch is off to the Warriors.

Interesting move. A year ago was seen as one of the best 10s in schoolboy footy. Wonder if he saw his pathway blocked both at local and national levels.

There were a few Wales qualified Kiwis mentioned in the Welsh media a while ago but he wasn't one of them.

After getting tonked 00 - 34 at home by the Stormers in their last game they might need a few more soon to be Welsh Qualified Kiwis.

Saumaki runs straight and hard so looks more suited to RL to me. I can see the attraction to a NRL club. Not the tallest for a loose forward.

So the Crusaders CEO is calling the NRL of being lazy, the CEO of the NRL is calling Rugby 360 lazy. ๐Ÿ™‚

I bet you there's a few NPC CEOs looking at Mansbridge's comments and sniggering.
