Caleb Clarke said post-match that the squad put rugby aside for the week to "re-gather as a group after a long break"
Give me a break. This group is a circus.
That's like going to a work conference and doing nothing but getting on the piss with colleagues instead of work stuff......
( shuffles off quietly )

@kev The Kiwi-born Ireland players demonstrating the tendency of eager-to-please recent immigrants to ape and magnify the worst aspects of the host culture - in this case being obnoxious, petulant whingers with a built-in victim mentality
I think deep down these guys carry a chip with nz because they never got a look in at higher honours and their satisfaction comes with trying to prove a point they were good enough.

ABs pretty good last 20 minutes.
By god the modern game can be tedious though -

Overall a clunky game but always great to beat Ireland.
Fainga’anuku was very good. Plays direct and is hard to get to ground. The way Ireland defend you need that extra time on your feet to allow support players to arrive. Him and Clarke and also Quinn provide that.
Plenty of negative that no doubt will be highlighted, but happy to win and a shame we couldn’t get that last try.
I think we have to call it like it is. We are not very good. The coaching and selections are mental.
Mexteds infamous quote comes to mind.
We are like blind men in a brothel. Just groping.
It's not cohesive. Not authoritative. We dont have any players giving us 8/10 every week.
Someone always saves our arse.
Who are the bona fide world 15 players in the squad. Jordie (at a push)?
The lack of strong game plan is making us much poorer than we should be
I thought they created space and attacking opportunities in first half but poor passing and lineout execution cost them.
Failure to create phases up the middle, and the narrow field, meant almost everytime we went wide we lost it
I thought we lost a lot at restarts when on attack. Usually Codie throws well but we were picked off, knocked on coming down, not straight etc. Then we had a clear break and Jordan dummied and then threw a passs to Carter who has overrun him. I would hate to see visits to the 22 and points scored in the 1st half.

Nice post match interview by Holland. First answer and managed to get most of the cliches in.
Their forwards were thrashing out there like Windmollen but I put my finger in the dikes most likely to crumble and slowly we stopped leaking.

Lakai was non existent.
Disagree. Thought he was fine. Works hard. Consistent. Low error rate. Not the biggest player but he is powerful.
Yup, he's needed out there. Someone in the loose has to do the dirty work.
I am willing to self reflect.

@Mattasaurus Two of the Barrett’s out for the next test so great

I don't think Jordie is that bad, he gets crap on here because of his brothers. Might not always be the best choice at 12 but he's a good player.

Auckland Police have expressed surprise Caleb Clarke knows what a brake is.

I thought Lakai was the pick of the loose forwards.
What is Lakai's best position though?

For me only Savea is in the top 4 loose forwards in the country so Lakais best position isn't really relevant. I dont foresee a high ceiling for Lakai either.

What an annoying game to watch and bonkers that we had that big a win based off that performance. For 60 minutes we were utter poop. Happy with the result, not that happy with the performance. If Ireland could have taken some missed chances earlier on we might be singing from a different song sheet.
BB plays like a scatterbrained teenager. How is it that DMac has that reputation still while BB is serving it up consistently.
For as good a rugby player that he is Jordan lacks some basic skills. His passing is a lottery.
Roigard had two excellent moments in a match where he didn't quite live up to the Fern hype.
LF had a good game. I guess he's now our number 1 centre because we may as well try out four of them this year.
How has it taken me this long to realise that Furlong and De Groot are twins?
FFS the ref pissed me off when he gave Ireland another go at a miss kick because they didn't kick off the mark. Either let it play on or scrum to us, instead they were rewarded with a mulligan.
What is Lakai's role? He's supposed to be the blockbuster running guy, but he didn't do any of that.
Sititi looks to he coming back into form, put in a handy shift. In fact all the replacements seems to add something in this match.
Ah well, win number 1 in the box, maybe this is going to really kick off the era of Razor if we can build on the direct play of the last 20.

Job done
DeGroot, Carter and Clarke the best of the starters for me.
Dmac impact was noticeable and needed
The scrum was rubbish.
Eh? I thought they clearly dominated their opponents.

Yep the scrum was strong.

Beaudie missed touch on a pitch that isnt the regulation width.
So apt. So very apt.
