The Paper
The US Office was pretty rubbish compared to the UK version. What is it about Americans not being able to do subtlety like the Brit’s ?
( I still think the best US Comedies compare favourably with the best British Comedies but not this style of comedy if that makes sense )
This is a spinoff of the US office and is fucken unfunny and complete crap compared to that.
I lasted about 15 minutes. Utter shit. Avoid at all costs.
Spot on
Had so much potential
Makes you realise how good Ricky Gervais and all of the others were at what they did.

Sugar: Colin Farrell starring private detective show with a twist that came out about a year ago on Apple TV. Done in neo noir style, Chinatown style brightness though rather than the low lighting of traditional noir. I was pleasantly surprised by this after not really being too interested in it. Short episodes help, mostly around 35 minutes.

I enjoyed it

Final episode of Slow Horses season 5 was much better. Very good.
Yeah, was a bit worried it had gone a bit samey in eps 4 & 5. Ep 6 was top notch.
Been recommended Down Cemetery Road. Anyone seen it?

Its literally only just released and only a couple of episodes dropped. Same author as slow horses as well as producers who fell in love with his work, so on my radar, will just wait for more to drop.

House of Guinness
Seems there are some true parts to this, but is largely a work of fiction.
Dislike series that end as this one did (especially as it seems that was totally fictional) but there you go.
Not a must watch by any stretch, but good enough to keep me interested.

Watched E1 yesterday, good start. Nice mix of drama and fun

For my lighter comedy watches, just started S3 of Raising Hope, good silly fun series.
also started S5 of Cheers, still reckon this would be pretty safe in todays woke society, quality!

Is Raising Hope available for streaming? I just assumed it would be one of those lost shows. I think I watched it's entire run back in the old acquiring shows days which means I likely have it 480p on a HD somewhere.

@Nepia I believe it is available on Disney.
Oh shit, I should rewatch it before my Disney runs out.
I wish it was easier to find stuff on Disney, if it wasn't for Amazon they'd win the hardest to find anything to watch award.

@Nepia before I look for alt options to watch something, I just google how to watch 'X' in NZ....there was a couple of series recently I was unable to source through any platforms.
I use justwatch to find stuff I want to watch, but I mean it's not easy to find stuff within the app by browsing, rather than knowing what you want to watch.
Disney is like a video store where they have the same 50 videos in rows at the front and then have a basement with all the others that you have to walk down 100 steps to get to.

Right couple of series knocked off
Season 5 Slow Horses
Still combines action with a bit of comedy, didn't feel it reached the same heights in some aspects if I'm comparing series, but still feel its one of the better series still going. Maybe too much fat old bloke who can barely move turning up at the right place/right time boundary pushed a little too much
Season 2 Gen V
What do writers do that now they can legally smoke all day? They write a series spin for "The Boys". Seriously warped minds with who came up with some of the gen v talents. Think this will now link with the long overdue next season of "The Boys" where Homelander just may have met his match.
Season 1 Chief of War
Started promisingly, set in Hawaii circa 1800s based on the tribes fighting between islands and the prophecy that would see reunification. Well told at first and a really good drama. Felt the final couple of episodes maybe lost its way a bit, trying to decide whether they wanted to turn it into a "fast and furious" or keep a bit more gritty balance. Still really good overall and will watch a second season if it gets the green light.

ive never watched Gen V, only got round to watching the Boys earlier this year.
would Gen V be needed leading into the final season of The Boys? -

would Gen V be needed leading into the final season of The Boys?probably not, but one character could possibly become a lead character in the final season and just depends whether you would care about needing to know that back story

@bayimports yeah enjoyed the first season of Gen V, although started to lose interest towards the end and they've picked up where they left off. Bonkers for bonkers sake gets a bit boring.
