Things not going to plan right now. But he did win the league last year
That was Jurgen Klopp's team.
Slot has spent hundreds of millions over the summer putting together his own team and they lost their last four Premier League games................
The fans and the club won't wait for long

and up to second. I agree with Iraola, it doesnt mean anything at this time of year, except you have points. We have had a good run of games and were able to get points. Next two games are away at difficult opponents so lets see how that plays out. Over the moon with our start though. Loving that El Kroupi can find the net that is a bonus

Villa with another in against Man City. Outstanding goal by the Polish Cafu to win it.

The EPL have done their best to derali our progress with their little FFP rules to suit who they want to suit, but it's been a good turnaround from us after the turmoil from earlier in the season. Monchi departing seems to have had a positive influence as his recruitment strategy sent chaos right through the dressing room..

Conversely last season Villa were spending almost 100% of their revenue on wages and while the details of those rules might need to be tuned, it is fundamentally a good thing for football and for clubs that there is a curb on wild spending. The problem is that it has led to bizarre ways to get around FFP - awarding huge long contracts to amortise expensive purchases and selling top young home grown talent as it is all FFP profit.
Villa stlll have a pretty good first team and a very sharp coach.

Slot must be getting close to crisis time at Liverpool. Now the champion team has been broken up, he doesn't seem to know how he wants them to play. Basically defaulted on the EFL Cup by playing almost none of the first team squad and having a bench of kids (Lucky and Laffey on the bench sound like 2 of the dwarves rejected by Snow White). Teams know how to play against them to expose their weaknesses and I'm sure at the weekend that is what Villa will try to do

It's a bold strategy by Bournemouth to hold a high line against Manchester City. There is no way that you should allow Haaland to be put through on goal from his own half!
Arsenal looking better and better to take the title with a very solid defence and a good enough attack

Arsenal have done wonderfully well this season so far, especially in defence and are six points clear, but there are 28 games to go. Bigger leads than that have disappeared in previous title races.
I can't help thinking Pep Guardiola is going to find a way for his Man City squad to chase this one down.

We will always push forward even at 90 mins but Haaland looking back to his robotic best.
A little annoyed with Eli Kroupi, didnt need to get offside early, that would have really set the scene!

Man City hump Liverpool 3-0.
Their fifth defeat of the season already and in 8th after spending £450 million on players since May.
Arnie Slot will be lucky to survive the international break.
I can't see them sacking Slot soon. No obvious successor and he deserves the chance to develop this squad. But they have already lost more games this season than all of last season.
Weird season, 5 teams share 5th spot and have played 11 games and have 18 points. Which means you're in the UCL race but that you're tracking for only 62 points. Everton just 3 points off the top 5 but in 13th spot ....

Fantastic 4-0 win against AFC Bournemouth.
Up the Villa!!!!!
We were off our game when Smith went off, Jimenez great attacking lines, but Morgan beat up on him. Thought we looked good just after the half then the easily read penalty save knocked any momentum well out and were poor to finish. Dust off and we go again
Well done, think we may have woken Villa back up

We've been alright after a chaotic start on and off the field. Interesting game despite the scoreline. Poor attempt from Petrovic from the Buendia free kick i thought, but you guys dominated the start of the 2nd half until Martinez saved the Semenyo penalty and tipped a deflection that was goalbound over the bar. Had one of those gone in, it's a different game, not too dissimilar from last year where we dominated early but only had one goal, invited you guys back in, and Evanilson snatched a winner at the death. This game, we took every chance.

Buendia is a great little player who has struggled with injury. Adds a bit of craft to Villa's hard workers.
Doku is a joy to watch to anyone who likes freestyle football. City have moved him closer to the penalty area instead of being stuck out wide and defenders are scared of him when he runs at them. Not sure I can think of a player you can compare him to for playing style with his fast feet and acceleration. City use a Cherki, Foden, Doku triangle in the middle of the field, looking for one of them to get space facing forwards to either play a ball for Haaland or push to the full-backs out wide where it is usually defender free.
And in good news for everyone, Notts County won tonight to move up to 3rd and an automatic promotion spot - stop the season now!

On Buendia, he adds energy too when he comes on, always gets about. He's improved on his shooting and pass range too. A crazy turnaround after we tried to sell him in the summer.
