@Richie8-7 to be fair we were looking unlikely until the 59th minute when the herculean flying Dutchman pounced on the Irish 10 Crowley and then Tupaea won the turnover, hopefully sky sport show the world rugby awards at months end as I wanna see Fabian receive his world breakthrough player of the year medal
On this particular play - I didn't catch it at the time but Holland absolutely busts his guts chasing the kick - full sprint after it from the instant Jordan kicks it. Real effort play which you don't always notice.

Then again, Roigard was being a right fluffybunny to JGP.
Yeah, just give him the fucking ball when it's their scrum rather than being a dickhead.

@Richie8-7 See you in the next match thread, everyone's most welcome to contribute!
During the match I'm usually watching the match.
I didn't know we'd win for the first 60 and found it pretty frustrating. This team is a long way off where we need to be and expect to be as All Blacks fans. But "worst All Black team in 50 years" in the first half of a match we won by 13 (and could easily have won by 20), away from home against a supposedly top tier team seems slightly ridiculous. That's 2 in a row now where we've played well for maybe 20 minutes and ended up winning comfortably away from home against decent teams. Great All Black team? A long way off. But worst ever? I don't think so.

don't extrapolate from the specific to teh general.
Most people thought we'd win - we were $1.40 favourites at the TAB. But we played poorly and have for a while. Still waiting for a statement performance ... fingers crossed we smoke England on their turf

Roigard has been getting on my nerves a bit in the last few games. There's this kind of stuff along with the over the top celebrations after scoring tries and even acting up before putting the ball down. Just as well he's so useful.

That's not an extrapolation, it's an exact quote.
And on your second comment, agree 100%

Gotta love people coming in after the fact and acting like they knew we'd win
who said that?

I was following the game but not seeing it, and had an eye on this thread at the time but not posting. We certainly didn't seem comfortable for nearly 60 minutes but it seemed to me once I could actuallly watch the whole game, that people were just using the game to put the boot into their favourite villain.
That said, I didn't expect the Irish to be so stuffed after 60 minutes, and much of their bench didn't really help either. We still don't look well-coached or well-trained though.

@Richie8-7 has a habit of making an appearance when the ABs win to stick the boot into anyone critical of the coaches, while being strangely absent for games like the the drubbing we got from SA at home, and also being completely absent from posting live during the game when we are not playing well.
-
what are the chances the red card gets rescinded?

When did I say anything about people being critical of the coaches? I clearly stated that the team is far from great. I specifically criticised comments like "worst team in 50 years" and those wanting every player and coach sacked? Then what?
-
@Richie8-7 not sure anyone is asking for any players to be sacked, but the coaches... can you name a worse AB performance then that home loss to SA? As far as I can tell that's the worst performance of all time, so "worst AB team in last 50 years" isn't exactly over-egging it after that. 43 fucking 10 with players giving up in the final 10. On the back of that performance, and the shit show we served up for the first 60 minutes of that match before Ireland shat the bed, yeah people are going to be harshly critical. Unless we just accept mediocrity in the ABs these days, maybe we should?

Went under the radar, but Ratima got about three minutes. I get they rate Roigard, but the All Blacks aren't in a great place when a halfback has to go 77 minutes when, what is in theory our #2 halfback is on the bench.
I thought Cam paced himself though. He didn't get into heavy contact, and the only sniping run was late when he scored

The only player who is getting almost universal calls from TSF to be dropped is BB

Turned out to be a pretty good call to leave him on ay?

Should be zero.
These things are both true:
The WR framework means that is a Red Card.
The contact was soft and feels more yellow-worthy.
But really, if BB was knocked out would we be saying yellow? Head into shoulder can have really bad outcomes.
-
@nzzp still recall the French winger who tipped BB in the air, landing on his head, Gardner gave him a RC that was later rescinded...
Agree, in the current framework, it is red, but WR will likely find a way to undermine themselves and.the process somehow.
-
@No-Quarter yes, it was horrific. And pretty shocking how badly they threw in the towel. I don't think we're as bad as that result though. At 7-0, we were a decent pass away from 14-0 and it's a different match.
Anyway, not saying we're playing well. Just saying some "supporters" have lost the plot.
