West Indies tour of NZ

That tail is going to have to wag big time again if they want a chance here. If they can't win this, then just 1 T20 win (their strongest format) would signal a verrrrry long tour for the WI
-
They are running out of tail...

Windies have a strong tail. Still game on
8 minutes ago... aged like milk.
Long long way back from here for teh windies. It'll take a miracle
They did ok to get to 140…….
But yeah, uphill battle and then some. Conway supporting well with an unbeaten 0 so far.

Gosh the University Oval is a beautiful Cricket ground, possibly on a par with the Basin. Great spot.
everything but the weather eh
I've had some splendid days at the Basin, sometimes it didn't even rain.
-
That was absolutely belted. Robinson will make short work of this if they don't get him asap

Agree on the Basin. I've lived in Dunedin.
There's a lot to love, but the weather isn't part of that equation

Having now called both home. The weather is very comparable. Dunedin colder and sunnier over winter. Wellington a bit more consistent for its good period over summer.
This game here was the coldest I have ever been at a cricket game. https://www.espncricinfo.com/series/new-zealand-vs-sri-lanka-2024-25-1443537/new-zealand-vs-sri-lanka-1st-odi-1443546/full-scorecard

@SouthernMann I was at that game too! My God it was freezing. There was a very lonely looking bloke operating the ice cream stand.

I gave up at the innings break and swapped the Basin for the Cambridge and a Parma.

The fern is obviously inconsolable after the Rugby.......
but for anyone who is interested the BCs are 256/6 in the 48th. Daryl Mitchell being Mr reliable as ever with an excellent hundy.
Just as well you didn't say anything sooner.

Yeah he got out for 119. Windies pegged things back a bit. 269-7.
49 from Conway. Forgettable innings from Young and Ravindra.

Mitchell is just outstanding these days, fashioning himself a formidable record averaging 44 in tests and 51 in ODIs. Where everyone else struggled he looked very assured, they'd be chasing 100 odd without him.
Bit hard to gauge our score, there is a bit in the wicket, but we'll need early breakthroughs or those 260 runs will whittle away very quickly.
