England v All Blacks

"Are we taking what worked in Super Rugby and trying it in test rugby. That's what I see happening, and I don't see it working."
It's why Leicester and Quinn worked in the midfield at short notice.
Test footy is about winning collisions. Go forward ball. Territory.
If we had say a Harry Plummer at 10, Sam Cane at 7 and a Harry Wilson at 8 we probably win that game.
We lost that game due to the nuts and bolts not being good enough. Kicking pens, finding touch, cleaning out rucks, carrying hard.
Our current players are all icing. But no cake.

Go back and watch Crusaders vs the Lions in 2017. The same things were said after the Lions won that game. Who was the Crusaders coach?

Parker is wearing Kaino's jersey......didnt see him all game.
Savea is wearing McCaws...didnt see him.

Feels very much like 2003 when Henry took over. He inherited the icing, as was seen in the 3N that year. Then he had to go and bake the cake. It took him until France in Paris in 2004 to find the recipe.

Yes, and the Blues won their game due to the efforts of their loose forwards. Still can't get selected by shit NZ coaches.

Sam Cane at 7
Papalii is the bigger, faster, and better option.
In fairness to Dalton, he’s done what has been asked of him in the AB XV and led well. If he doesn’t get selected after a good tour, NZ may as well disband the XV and save the money to pour into fixing the development pathways that are broken!

@cgrant I disagree. I think Simon Parker is a project worth persevering with and Twickenham is great stage for him to show what he's got. I think his ball carrying will cause England some real problems.
What is your opinion now ?

He is not even a patch on Liam Squire as it stands. Never mind Kaino.
-
@cgrant On the plus side he disrupted the English lineout and made ten tackles.
On the negative, he made three carries for zero metres gained and he doesn't hit enough rucks.
Tupou Vaii and Josh Beehre will better options for the ABs at 6 in 2026, maybe Devan Flanders too.

Vaii's defence at 6 was truly terrible. @brodean has the stats on that. Beehre will play lock for the Blues. Cam Christie is our player to watch there.

Only 21, but behind both Simon Parker and Devan Flanders for me at the moment.
God knows, what's going on with Samipeni Finau and why he had to go home?
6 will be a very open jersey next year.

@ACT-Crusader
Lakai was getting stuck in.
We can all see that our attack was rubbish. We literally give up at times and it results in a hope and hoist or low percentage cross kick by BB.
Ironically we have more attack runners than we have had in a long time but are using them ineffectively. Players like Sami, Williams, Vaai, Sititi, Lakai, Savea, Roigard, DMac, Jordan, Clarke are all good runners.
Send in Mauss to give Razor the heads up. -
The most improved player for England this autumn is Immanuel Feyi-Waboso. He was all over the shop for England A against France A in June.
Yesterday he made most line breaks (3) and topped metres gained (99). A massive threat for England every time he touched the ball. He topped dominant tackles too with two.

Yeah, he is a serious weapon. England have a plethora of quick wingers - him, Arundell, Radwan to name three.
England have the cattle to win a couple of 6N and genuinely contend for a WC in 2027. It just comes down to coaching.

He impresses me. Just doesn't give in, looks composed and seems like a bloke who gets pissed off with losing.

@Tim said in England Vs All Blacks:
Also Wilson: "We spent years, and years trying to work out how to win World Cups. We let all that expertise walk out the door, and now those coaches don't want a bar of us. We burned those bridges."
That is not something that I ever expected to hear on the Breakdown.
Hate to keep banging the same old drum, but a fish rots from the head down. When people like Gilbert Enoka publicly express disgust at the treatment of AB coaches and players by those who run NZR, you know where the real problems lie.
The most important selection in NZ rugby isn't 10, Robertson's assistants or himself, - it's the NZR CEO

Even our scrum is under pressure. Ratima is as stupid as they come, clear it FFS.
I have severe doubts about Lord’s scrummaging. No point in tank with four cylinder engine.
Lord basically half stood up when we gave away a
scrum penalty with Codie off. Rassie would have
brought on the fresh legs of Darry when Sami came on. -
