India selecting a million all rounders and keepers instead of a top order comes back to bite them...

Watching highlights now. Some good bowling from The Proteas on a pitch that had settled a little by the looks.

The shots from KL Rahul, Jurel, and Pant were unforgiveable. Jadeja not much better on defence.

I don't think the extra bay bat would have badges made a difference to the result

@NTA I've had to translate your last sentence.

Since they only needed 30 more, if they'd even rolled Shubman out for a couple of bats to knock it around he might have got them close.

I haven't seen what he looked like when he retired, but it doesn't sound to me like he couldn't have held a bat. He's listed as "unlikely to play" in the second test. I wonder what Alan Border would have said (re. Dean Jones).

I guess it becomes an entirely different game if you replace Kuldeep with a batsman, since he picked up some top order wickets.

Some young guns going well for Otago. Tom Jones on a run a ball 59 at tea. While Jacob Cumming finally broke through and sxored his maiden first class century. Even though the Basin looks very flat, great to see some young talent stand up stand up for the side after Dean Foxcroft and Dale Phillips left

I see that Tom Jones is the grandson of Jeremy Coney.
