@Chris know much about Cam Paul? I see him and Muhammed Abbas have staged a nice recovery here vs the Windies and that Paul already has 2 5fers in 4 FC games for Canterbury. One to watch?
Yeah he is a decent young allrounder bowls mid 130s and is a good bat.
just 20 years old a country boy originally out of Darfield highly rated one to watch a genuine allrounder.
I rate him highly. -
We'd better enjoy the great man while we can.
Kohli gone as mentioned and Smith and Root might well be playing their last Ashes series.
Marty Crowe could not have predicted things better when he referred to them as the fab four, what a quartet of modern legends they all became ! a cheeky 507 test appearances between them.......( and counting )

Yeah definitely the beginning of the end for Kane
Really really hope he has his goal set on reaching 10,000 test runs
not concerned about ODI's tbh.824 runs to go.
He could well get a big chunk of those against a pretty poor test team in his own backyard.
The comparison to Southee was apt, unlike him KW is still absolutely the first name on the team sheet. I'd hate to see him decline and be there on reputation like others before him ( Ponting, Dravid and Tendulkar spring to mind to varying degrees )

This graphic highlights the lean run for the top order batsmen in recent years. For the likes of Latham, Young and Mitchell it has been 25+ innings since their last century. Young is yet to reach 100 in his 39 innings since his debut. For Latham it is 37 innings.

For KW it is 0

Hes already 100 runs closer, your maths wasnt quite right..
Currently on 9,276 runshes likely to be the last one for quite some time as well, apart from Kohli who no longer bats in tests there no one near the 10,000 mark thats still active

I'd like to say I made the mistake deliberately to check you were paying attention.......but I've always been shit at maths.
Yep, closest active player appears to be Angelo Mathews on 8214 runs and while he's a fine batsman he's 38 years old and not in KWs class. No chance.

Latham, Conway, KW, Ravindra, Young, Blundell, Bracewell, Smith, Foulkes, Henry, Duffy.
First I've heard of an injury to Mitchell but Young a handy replacement.
Not sure how Bracewell got in ahead of Santner ?
Very inexperienced bowling line up.
Spitting down there and overcast but no talk of a delayed start......

Santner injury - strained groin
Ah righto, ok with Phillips still making a comeback Bracewell will do.
Mitchell injured too I can only assume ?
EDIT: yes, commentators said he hurt himself in the ODIs.
