As a former opening batsmen and wicket keeper, I hate to think how sore Latham is going to be after this test.
Alec Stewart may have been the last guy to open, captain and keep all in the same test ?
Sangakarra?
Edit: genuine question. Don't know if he was skipper?

If my usage of stats guru is correct, neither Stewart nor Sangakarra was ever designated keeper, opener and captain in the same match. They might have been an emergency keeper at some point though, I can't see anyway to find that in stats guru.
Only three people have ever done the triple officially (i.e designated to keep before the match) - the most recent being Imtiaz Ahmed for Pakistan in 1962. There was a West Indian, Gerry Alexander before that, in the 50s, who actually captained at test against Pakistan where Ahmed kept & opened but was not captain. Percy Sherwell of England is the third, pre WWI.

Underway in Chch.
NZ still massive favourites but with Henry and Smith down it's not gonna be a cakewalk.
I'm not sure I remember three guys getting injured in the same test before ? ( I won't count Dehli belly in India )
Latham has done an incredible job with his batting and keeping. Notwithstanding Ravindras amazing innings I'd give MOM to the captain.
( Or Hope if he gets the Windies home )

Little Kane - with 30 wickets, has the most of the players available to bowl in this innings.
Despite their fabulous averages - Duffy and Foulkes are lacking the desired impact so far.
Going to be a long day, I feel.
Kane and Conway might both have to bowl.

Fantastic catch from Latham. Short ball pays off in the end. What do I know?
Was it what ? He looked like a full time keeper there. That catch was very droppable.
Hope gone for a bloody good 140, game over now.

Phew - Tommy a bit lucky that wedged in the webbing, but he nursed it safely to the ground!
That probably takes a Windies win out of the equation.
Yeah I think a Windies win is off the table now. I think a draw is still possible, but these to need to bat for a session or so. But Hope looked like the only guy capable of scoring fast enough to get thew across the line.
