Baz was the last captain who would try stuff. Latham, Southee and Kane were all the same, very organised, very orthodox and unwilling to get too creative, happy to stick with a plans for too long.
Martin Crowe wrote a piece about a decade ago that talked about the judgement of when to give up an a plan being a key trait for great captains.

Bloody hell - I went away at lunch thinking this was a formality and didn't require my supervision. Came back just in time to watch the replay of Phillips and Tickner fucking things up!
Just saw that, one would think they were playing beach cricket and itching for a bat.
