I don't think it's churlish to say this would have been over by lunch if Henry and Smith had a bowl.....

Rigor made an interesting point about substitutes. He's all for substitute fielders but not for guys to bat or bowl. I'm kind of in two minds, I mean it's like the All Blacks having Ardie on the bench and saying he can come on and run with the ball but he isn't allowed to hit any rucks or make any tackles......

Bracewell should definitely toss it up. All those short deliveries are harmless

Feels like too little too late. Hopefully we have enough fit replacements. Why hasn't Phillips had a bowl? Oh he's a sub isn't he....

Come on, we can't get this guy out if we don't make him play at the ball

Surely anyone still thinking Latham MOTM has been day drinking...

    speaking of which

Greaves has been superb at the crease
Batting with ease and resolute with his leaves
    and given NZ the fleece

    I'll get my coat

Yeah I’ll have to change my mind on that one. No chance.

Only two real candidates are at the crease now

That’s a wicked moment for him. Great stuff. Fantastic character and so needed for his team.

Well and truly sealed MOTM. Pretty tough on Roach after what he’s done !

Especially after he got a duck in his first innings

    all over.

A real pisser they couldn’t beat them in terms of WTC points.

Windies will be thrilled with a massive moral victory there.

    Get well soon Henry !!!

It's interesting that Roach went totally into his shell after that dropped catrh when he was on 47. Scored about another 5 runs in an hour and a half.

If they were willing to stay positive I think they could have got to needing 30-40 runs off 5 overs and a real chance, but I think they got spooked by the near miss and decided the draw was enough.

Full credit, it's a real gutsy effort to get that draw, but honestly, I think they could have won that.

I’m not sure about that given one wicket lost (and the young kid Layne coming in) probably leads to two in quick time.

They'd got through a whole session without losing a wicket! All I'm saying is if they'd kept going at around 3.5 an over (which is basically what they had been doing until Roach got his 50), then they get to 5 ovens left in the day needing 30-40 runs.

Michael Rae has joined the squad. 69 FC games with an average of 33.

I know the name, but know next to nothing about him other than the stats I got from cricinfo.

Looks as though they’ve picked an experienced FC bowler as a place holder, rather than some inexperienced, promising young fulla that might not be ready yet.

They’re being ultra conservative with Jamieson, considering he just played a Plunkett Shield game.

An average of 33 doesn't fill me confidence. The little bits I've seen of him for Canterbury don't impress me either. Not sure who the alternatives are though assuming Sears, Jamieson etc not fully fit yet.
