Surely anyone still thinking Latham MOTM has been day drinking...
speaking of which
Greaves has been superb at the crease
Batting with ease and resolute with his leaves
and given NZ the fleeceI'll get my coat

Yeah I’ll have to change my mind on that one. No chance.
Only two real candidates are at the crease now

well deserved that man, pity against us, but magnificent all the same, match saver

It's interesting that Roach went totally into his shell after that dropped catrh when he was on 47. Scored about another 5 runs in an hour and a half.
If they were willing to stay positive I think they could have got to needing 30-40 runs off 5 overs and a real chance, but I think they got spooked by the near miss and decided the draw was enough.
Full credit, it's a real gutsy effort to get that draw, but honestly, I think they could have won that.

I’m not sure about that given one wicket lost (and the young kid Layne coming in) probably leads to two in quick time.

Michael Rae has joined the squad. 69 FC games with an average of 33.
I know the name, but know next to nothing about him other than the stats I got from cricinfo.
Looks as though they’ve picked an experienced FC bowler as a place holder, rather than some inexperienced, promising young fulla that might not be ready yet.
They’re being ultra conservative with Jamieson, considering he just played a Plunkett Shield game.

Michael Rae will do ok big hearted bowler will hit line and length the sort of test bowler you see around the traps.
Solid but not spectacular. He is the sort who will hold an end up.
Kyle needs some more load work to prevent recurring problems sensible from NZC. -

Pretty big ask........their last wicket fell at 12.30, just before lunch. Roach as pointed out before has never had much of a batting pedigree ( not that it showed yesterday ) and Greaves was hugely inexperienced in that sort of situation. A bit more aggression would have probably led to a wicket or two falling and put their new guys under huge pressure.
Again, massive achievement from these guys but losing two frontline bowlers was a fucken disaster in terms of the BCs trying to win the match.

Rae is someone who will go all day. Has previously been coached by Walter and spent a lot of time bowling in partnership with Duffy when at Otago.
Is a bit Wagner like in his approach. Probably mid-late 130s pace wise.
I have always been a fan.

March before he is game ready he is starting to load up his bowling after Christmas.

Cheers. Will forget him for now. Sigh, a trio of him, Jamieson and Henry would have wrapped things up, now all three of them are various degrees of rooted !!!!
