what the actual fuck????
7 total tests between our front line 4 bowlers and we bowl first? at the Basin??
I would loooooove to hear the explanation behind that.
After bowling for the best part of two days, as recently as Saturday.
Captain Tom Latham strikes again.
Surely captain and coach talked about what to do if we won the toss? Not like it's a brain explosion or anything

70th test match at the most beautiful ground in NZ today.

Quite cool looking through the list, we've gone from years and years between tests to having three in 2017 !
Basin is 8th on the list, up there with some iconic venues and the first that isn't in England or Australia.

Windies would be far happier at lunch than us even if they had won the toss and batted. Being sent in? ecstatic.

Rae get his first test wicket, Campbell caught at first slip by Son of Mitch
Brilliant. Nice comeback after some rubbish early on.
That puts NZ in charge I reckon.
Michael Rae has cult hero written all over him with the chrome dome/headband/beard combo.

Sounds like a bowling version of Mitch Jr

If he wore a headband they'd be inseparable.
Speaking of bowling, in the little player profile thing at the start Ravindra, Mitch Jr, Phillips and Foulkes were all listed as "all rounders"
Some fit the bill better than others. I don't remember the last time son of John actually bowled. Far too busy being one of the best batsmen in the world.

@MN5 Very prophetic, as he strikes next ball!
I know my Cricket. Anyone on here will vouch for that.
And fashion tips, I'm enjoying your cricket fashion tips. Probably helps that I can't see anything.

Between Wagner and Raes efforts Wellington is fast becoming the Milan of the southern hemisphere.
Roston Chase averages 12.6 in NZ. Hopefully the BCs realise this and take full advantage. Not exactly batting by example while here.

It's part of what made the first test so crazy, not only losing 2 front line seamers, but also Mitchell not being available to pick up some of the slack. He'd have bowled a ton of overs.

Would have got a wicket or two as well I bet

Speaking of that as the commentators have alluded to there wasn't much of a break for Duffy and Foulkes. They might be feeling it. Batting first to give them an extra day or two might have been more sensible.
