    Perpignan need to avoid being relegated though. They have lost all 11 games and are currently last in the Top 14.

    Spoke to a contact yesterday Taufa Funaki more than likely leaving NZ rugby after the 2026 super season wants to represent Tonga at the 2027 RWC

    That's a shame, he's a good player. Do you know if there is any truth to the Lam rumours?

    Seems like the core of the Blues are all leaving once they get a decent overseas offer.

    @hikastags there’s a bit of that floating around re Lam on the move as well , my contact who is involved with Auckland rugby and is no mean coach himself said there’s was a lot of disappointment in the Auckland ranks about the attitude of the senior players who returned from super rugby .
    I know that the Crusaders were waiting to swoop on Sam Hainsworth Fa’aofo , they had seen how effective he was for the Blues in the preseason earlier in the year playing at 7.
    Hainsworth Fa’aofo was disappointed he was shunted into the 8 jersey for Auckland as opposed to the 7 that he felt more comfortable in and giving him the best opportunity to pick up a full super contract fortunately for Sam the Crusaders had already noted that preseason performance

    PJ Sheck is off to the Ealing Trailfinders where he will be linking up with the now former Otago loose forward Harry Taylor.

    Interesting this has three upvotes already. I hate this sort of thing, no matter who does the chasing. Grandparent is a pretty weak link. Unless of course it's been Cahill's life long dream to play for Wales, then good for him.

    From a Welsh perspective, I guess from the low ebb we're at we need to start looking down these avenues. We've never really taken this route as "professionally" as maybe Scotland and Ireland have in the past.
    Cahill & Riley Higgins have been in the WRU's sights for a while I think. Given the mess the union are in here they're probably partially looking at this as a way of getting some public support for their plans to close one of the professional clubs.

    Respectfully, Wales should keep their mitts to themselves and produce their own talent.

    @hikastags don't disagree at all but while others are using world rugby regs to their advantage you have to do the same thing or get left behind.
    Personally I'd probably change the regs to parentage only but you can only deal with what's Infront of you at the time.

    There would be a certain new Welsh fan on here if that did happen.

    He'd be the biggest thing to happen to Wales since Thomas Woodward got a perm, changed his name to Tom Jones and started singing "It's not unusual."

    Are you trying to say Van Der Merwe and Tuipulotu aren't born and bred Scotsmen ?

    @MN5 😁
    They've taken advantage of the rules so good luck to them.
    And I'm not suggesting Wales haven't benefitted in the past, Hadleigh Parkes as an example was excellent for us to be honest.
