I certain players are not sent packing with the coaches NZR are on a dog lead on certain players whims.It's a two way street. At the end of the day, a head coach - like any leader or decent manager - needs to be able to win the respect of the players or people who work for him.
In that respect, Robertson - despite the hype - has turn out to be a bit of a failure

If the rumours around Savea are true, even if he is, ‘right’ - he has to go. It just sets such a dangerous precedent.

NZR seem to have burned so many bridges over the last few years that a new coaching set-up is likely to mean a fair amount of Test inexperience in the mix. I think getting someone who can work with the players is really key - whether old school or empathetic doesn't matter.
Regardless of who is lined up to take over, calamitous or otherwise, I welcome Razor being sacked purely to remind everyone that poor performance won’t be tolerated. There has to be consequences from the dugout to the field.
I don’t want to go fully down the soccer route but we haven’t been sacking or dropping people half enough lately.
