Jamie Joseph and Joe Schmidt looking likely now .
It's all happening lots flying around apparently meetings have taken place over last couple months.
At what stage this does go ahead can't say don't no.You would assume that with some new NZRU management they might be able to get some of the previous guys in there, Schmidt makes the most sense alongside Smith.
When you look at the change from Foz > Razor, they changed almost everyone across management as well, so there was no continuity in procedure. That was a red flag at the time raised by some here and is likely one contributing factor.
It also just sounds like there is playing favourites, which means we'd gone right back to the Mitchell days. That's a terrible way to go about things, so I'm not sure we should be too carried away with player power when they may be just as likely trying to restore some structure and consistency to the procedures that they had enjoyed under previous regimes at this level (which these coaches and the managment have no experience with).

I agree. I don't think it's personal, its the senior players voicing concerns that systems are not right

Publicly bad mouthing some players while ignoring deficiencies in others probably doesn't help foster unity either... Honest question, how many players in our current squad "play both sides of the ball?"

Just a shame that The Breakdown isn't on air at the moment to really dig into the issues...
They can fuck right off. As can Ross Karl, Kirst and Beav and co.
We were getting better reportage and opinion on forums like this than from the pro's.
The dogs on the street could see all was not well in camp. Strange squad omissions, 2 coaches quitting mid tenure, fringe players going overseas almost exasperatedly (Stevenson, Sotutu, Akira).
And the media (im looking at you Mils, Goldie, Bryn Hall and Parsons in particular), just hand waved everything away as development, and alignment tweaks and messaging, and learnings other corporate word salad nonsense that fucked me right off.
We have walked like a duck and quacked like a duck for years now. The coaches were shit, and a fair few of the players are shit too. We all know it, and in the likes of Beaudy's case, he knows it himself.
All we need is an adult in the room to tell a few home truths and toss out some of the garbage.
Razor should have dropped Savea and a Barrett early doors to let everyone else know that nobody was safe from the cutting room floor. But he ran it on "the feels" and look what has happened.
Razor is at home alone with a tube sock while Rassie fucks the prom queen.
Nobody will ever care Razor was nice and nobody will ever care Rassie was a dickhead.
The ledger and trophy cabinet is all that matters.

I alway just assumed it meant consistent and hardworking impact defensively and offensively (but that may be my bias thinking it was aimed at Akira and Hos).
Let's walk together...on both sides of the ball.
So finally Razor and his assistants get their wish: if the NZR actually has told them to walk.. -

Ardie going to Europe is complete bullshit from his agent.
Leinster can't afford him (if they're paying him anywhere near the EUR 500k they're paying Jordie and Rieko.)
The Top 14 season is 30+ games long and get paid less than in Japan. They'd also expect him to hit a ruck as a loose forward.
Not many loose forwards hit rucks, that is what tighties or second arriving players do.
Guess who should be the arriving players Dan? McCaw hit a fuckton of rucks to secure ball. So did Cane, Papali'i, Kaino, Messam, Masoe, Kronfeld et fucking cetera.
Yep and McCaw retired 10 years ago, before the jackler winning the ball first became the seeming be all an be all. I not saying they hit none, but these jokers all played in a different era. You watch the game these days , midfield backs get as many turnovers than a lot of forwards etc.. It's more important for loosies (and most players ) to not tie themselves up in rucks for no reason. The average ruck is won in 3 seconds in test rugby these days, and you get there after that just take a pillar position , or fill out your backline. Most tests have over 100 very few players in any test hit more than 15-20 at very most. So a lot of players don't waste time there.

NZR needs to make a public statement ASAP, even if it's just to delay a real announcement by 24 hours.
Imagine how many lawyers will need to sign out any public statement. As well as the operational staff, Board and anyone mentioned.

There is a suggestion that Brown might have a release clause in the event that Joseph is the AB coach.

please be true
I read the same thing, but contract release at great cost, somewhere else.

@SouthernMann Not sure if it would change anything, but I meant something like making a statement about making another statement at a later date, rather than confirming anything.
