I'm genuinely surprised by this decision and I think I feel a bit sorry for Razor. I didn't agree with lots of his decisions (probably common of most coaches) and don't think the team was going well but I thought he would have been given a chance to right the ship. Unfortunately for him I think he's suffered from the fact Fozzie wasn't replaced last time.
The difference between Razor and Foz mid-cycle is Foz had the dressing room and Razor lost it.

Ah yeah, fair enough.

@Frank yes they all will be moved on over the coming days or weeks even Ryan , Schmidt will not work with at all.
So Schmidt has the inside line over JJ? Apologies, I’m on holiday and have arrived very late to the thread and there are soooo many messages!

@chimoaus Kirk said Razor doesn't get paid out in press conference.
Paid out or paid out the contract? I'd guess he'll be getting gardening leave cash.
I assume, with no knowledge at all, that they reached an agreement where Razor has resigned and will get some kind of payout and a discount on his non compete (which is likely unenforceable anyway from a legal standpoint but might keep some teams away from a moral standpoint).
-
While Kirk said Razor won't be getting paid out the final two years of his contract. It is highly likely there will be a set amount in an early termination clause.
Kirk also said there is a stand down period before Razor can work work another tier one nation. Stated it is about a year.

@SouthernMann so he can line up England after the world cup. Don't let Hoskins near the Tyne bridge.

@Nepia although he's the architect of his own demise, I surmise that Robinson has done him absolutely no favours.
Surely a competent CEO would have stepped in when he got wind that the All Black coach he was instrumental in appointing (and I don't for a second believe otherwise) wasn't in fact the coach?
Surely such a mythical CEO would've heard and acted on the rumblings of discontent?
Either way it is apparent to all now that Razor was appointed to the position without the necessary grounding, experience and support. Hopefully NZR acknowledge this and have acted to ensure that
Ellison isn't appointed as defence coachthe same mistakes aren't made again. -

This reflects poorly on Robinson, as well as Dame Patsy and the previous board.
Kirk has made a big call, and time will tell. It seems right based on feedback, but crikey.
Also triggers the need to look at the appointment process. Experience in various fields is important. @Victor-Meldrew and I were vocal about him not necessarily being a miracle worker, while hoping he would be. Very disappointing reign, conservative and insular are the first two words that spring to mind. Where's the bravery in selections? Where's the bloke who dropped Crockett for a final?
All the best to Razor, hopefully a better trajectory with JJ and Kirk

Ellison
Kidwell.

TBF, he might be a decent defence coach but I'd prefer not to have anyone involved in the 2017 Kiwis in the ABs, especially not the guy in charge of that clusterfuck.
