Bryce came back as old fella didn't he? Still played well though.
Left at 26 as a fringe SR player. Came back at 32 a much better player. I would say he was in his prime as midfielder
The unusual thing about his situation though was that he came home for covid/family reasons and was expecting to retire

Hurricanes announce Fehi Fineanganofo signs with Newcastle Red Bulls after the 2026 Super & NPC seasons.
Thats a massive shame. Have a feeling he will be a starter by the end of the year. Looks promising in the midfield too. He'll only be 25/26 by then so could look to return
Are there any examples of players coming back in their prime after leaving early in their careers? I can't think of any.

Jerome Fucking Kaino!

Wikipedia:
In 2012 it was announced that Kaino would be leaving the Blues for Japanese club Toyota Verblitz on a two-year deal, following the conclusion of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.[5]On 4 October 2013, Kaino announced he had re-signed with New Zealand Rugby Union, North Harbour and Auckland Blues on a two-year contract.[6] He was expected to return to New Zealand in February[7] in time for the beginning of the 2014 Super Rugby season.

Leon? Would you consider Jordie?
Sabbatical. Lucky Luke perhaps?
Not convinced Luke came back better. Was Leon also on a sabbatical? I can't remember.

He 100% didn't come back better. He left on fire and came back too big and slow.

Etene Nanai-Seturo linked with a move to french club Clermont.

Can we stop with this Fihaki crap? He was never selected as a member of the squad.
There are enough sticks to beat Razor with without having to make them up.Also worth noting that ENS was/is probably also behind Carter, Tangitau and Stevenson before he left. So understandable that he might look offshore.
-
@Chris depends how pedantic we are about the word "picked." He was selected as an injury replacement, would that not mean he was picked?

Trained with the squad didn’t play so if is how you look n do it.
Not an AB as he wasn’t capped.
Picked to train. -

Not digging up the Fihaki malarkey. Just noting my sadness we didn't get to see a bit of Etene Nanai-Seturo at the highest level. Exciting player for Sevens and XV...
