Now I've just listened to another conversation and he said AB coach is announced tonight at 5pm B4 kick off .
      That's crazy thinking if correct.

I would have leaned towards Joseph if Brown could return, now I'm leaning towards Rennie but happy with Joseph and think it will be him (NZXV was a great demo without Brown). If Rennie and Joseph could work together we'd have a Maori PI coaching team! I just hope if it isn't Rennie he isn't lost to NZR. Upset we seem to have lost Schmidt, Brown, Cotter, and Cron.

yeah, would have prefered TB along with JJ just becasue thats when we've seen the best out of JJ i think, two guys that are on the same page and then any other assitants would either need to get on the same page or be good enough to explain why theyre need to change

now, assuming JJ has it, hoping we have enough progress and improvement for TB to come into the fold post RWC, a couple fo years a stability and cleaing up...and then "to the moon" after that

Isn't the All Black ethos that we aim to win every game (unrealistic though that might be)?

How could we possibly then set a KPI of anything other than winning RWC2027?

We might not sack the coach for failing to achieve that KPI - but, I'm certainly not signing on for any target less at RWCs.

Maybe they're announcing it after the game, pull off the win and it's JJ and if they lose it's Rennie. It would mark the only time I'd want the Crusaders to win ....

Hearing NO Rennie. Piecing things together I’d suggest he went all in on the top job, which at his age and stage is fair enough.

EDIT: Call me an optimist, but this could be because the attack portfolio is being taken by someone else 🧐

are you confusing a KPI and a target/goal, definately the aim is to win every game including the RWC...but a KPI is a judge of your performce...ie...if you dont achieve it you're not performing....and i think the RWC is fucking hard to win even with the best team in the world firing on all cylinders

The choice of the assistant coaches will be more important.

I don't think Joseph's AB XV tour was any better (or worse) than McMillan a year earlier, so I wouldn't be making too much of that. The same assistant coaches were used. Same may even be in his new coaching group.

@Bovidae I think whilst that might be true, it was important for Joseph to adapt off the field - and by all accounts he did that very well.

It’s probably as things have transpired what has tilted things in his favour.

I hope we get transparent reasoning as to why Joseph was picked.
I sincerely hope it's not it was owed him because he came back to NZ to coach or that that Tony Brown can come back in two years.
