First time we have conceded more than 30 points since 2013 against Aus (although we did win that time)

6 times (inc today) since 2004 have we conceded more than 30 points, and only one other team managed to hit 40 points; SA won 40-26 in Jo'burg in 2004.

There's your plan Eddie, score 40, you win! 😉

Quite like Hansen's post match comments. Cheika should take note.

@Pot-Hale your spelling appears to show you are not well and truly hammered, are you really Irish 😉

Completely Irish. I had my customary two pints and went home.

Then decided to check my betslip once more a minute ago.

    I didn't put €25 on Ireland to win by 1-5 at 25/1.

@Pot-Hale ha, I looked on the TAB earlier this morning and was paying about $11 I think it was, and I thought nah, surely there is a reason the odds are so long....oh well 🍻

Definately puts a huge question over the best of all time claims. This seasons unit can very easily be debated against many sides from the past 13 years including 2003.

Congratulations to the Irish, they outplayed us and managed to last the full 80 despite our guys 2nd half resurgence. While I always want the AB's to win surely people didn't think they would remain unbeaten forever? Am also very happy it wasn't a loss to the Wallabies! I believe our guys including the coaches need to lose a few - except not to the Aussies - on their way to the next World Cup as we humanoids learn more from failure than we do from success.

Instead I picked Ireland to win by more than 5 at 25/1.

    €650!

    🙂

As good as 650 euros sounds, I bet making history feels better. Well done Ireland. Cool heads at the end after a massive first 50. Put the miracle in Dublin to bed. Coaching masterclass from Schmidt, and the players executed with skill and massive heart. Kudos to you and see you in a fortnight.

Watched the game, but with 5 young kids running around the place, so it was hard to remember much of the game. Only the hurt after 80 minutes.

@rotated Agreed except I think comparing this side with 03 is a stretch. The 03 team lost a home game and also lost a knockout must win game. Obviously this could change with further losses in the next couple of weeks.

    3 things.

    1. Ireland played a great game. To win is superb and to do it after blowing a massive lead is even better.

    2. Ireland were structured but not predictable. Constantly caught out the ABs when they tried to second guess them. Importantly kept on playing at 33-29.

    3. I'm still shaking my head at why Savea went right and not left. Left was huge space and a couple of fatties ahead so he went right and backwards into practically the whole Irish team.

No way we'll beat the Lions surely ......

@KiwiPie nope, we'll be lucky to pick up another win this year, let alone beating the Lions.

Eventually the Irish had to crack the duck and in the shadow of the Chicago cubs finally breaking a 108 year drought, why not?

Nice! I had a tenner on a draw at 90:1 which was looking amazingly good for a while there. Ended up with 25 quid at 14:1 on ireland coming in...
Am I a bad person for betting against the ABs? I just cant help myself when the odds are so long in a two horse race.
