It's been a distracting week, imagine both Ireland and NZ could get tripped up on the weekend.

Jeez - Neil Francis does it again.

He gets paid by the cliche. I thought Stuff was ignored on here, but people seem to be reposting their articles regularly enough.

One minor retort/rant - the attempt to label Best as some kind of cry-baby, sook, or whatever other NZ phrase is appropriate is just wrong.

He was asked a question about people getting injured and he responded that no one likes to see anyone getting stretchered off a pitch. His response also included the comment that Ireland knew that NZ would play hard and hit hard, there were no surprises. He wasn't complaining. Or whinging. Or being a sook. Or whatever hardening up people think he should do.

      Mini rant over.

There was more to it than that, in that article he said he pleaded with the ref to go upstairs on two occasions -Barrets try which was a try and he said Fekitoa scored off a forward pass .He has no right to tell a ref to go upstairs and he was wrong on both counts anyway. He was whinging, its beggars belief that theres a perception from the Irish media that somehow their team was hard done by in that game and they are still whining about it now .
        Diplomatic immunity ffs.

Francis and Kimmage. Their paper has a lot to answer for.

At least Kimmage knows nothing and never played rugby. What's Neil's excuse?

Stuff is shit. But it's also one of only 2 traditional print options nad probably more than 50% of our old print media banners. So it's hard to ignore completely.

It does have a mix of serious plus trolls - in its actual journos.

Comments, and Stuff Nation should be avoided completely though.

Re-tread of NH stories are shit.

Weirdly I have heard no mention of Brendan Gallagher in the All Black bashathon.

              He sick? Dead?

He is (or was) the Irish Stephen Jones.

The good thing to come out of all this ,

Ireland are now a genuine rival ,

Our clashes with them from now will be something to look forward to , and that is a good thing .

In all seriousness, a bit of context: I'm from Canada but live in Ireland. There is NOBODY still talking about that game here, never mind whining, it hasn't been mentioned since the Monday morning coffee conversations. One or two journos are NOT representative of the general population, in fact they have the same opinion of the the journos most mentioned on here as you guys. Probably the difference is that rugby is a minority sport here, maybe fourth in line, so everyone just moved on to the next thing pretty quickly. Personally I think they have a healthy attitude to sport, enjoy it without letting it get too heavy (apart from Gaelic football maybe, which can be a bit crazy!!). It was actually a kiwi who pointed me to this forum, to show me how intense the whole rugby thing is in NZ.
