Just started American Horror Story. Pretty cool so far, though I see it has 4 seasons and I'm not really sure how they'd keep this story going for that long. Anyone else watched it?

Series were a bit of a mixed bag. Some pretty compelling, some just fucken stupid. Overall pretty entertaining though.

Loved Season 1 & 2. Coven & Circus were pretty poor.

    @No-Quarter said in TV Serieseseses:

I've just finished the 2nd season. Nowhere near as good as the first. I found it largely pretty confusing and wasn't really sure where it was going. And I'm still not totally sure, the final episode didn't answer a whole lot of questions.

Season 2 felt like they had no fucking idea what they were doing & just had to make something up & toss it out. It actually felt like they had written the first 6 episodes & then thought "we've fucked up" and then had to try rescue it. I'll still watch S3 as I loved S1 & still hope they can turn it round given that extra year.

For Gilmore Girls? I don't have words.

Just watching a few minutes the other day brought back some horrible supressed memories. Like that French guy. Fark me I want to kill him and his creator.

One of the extra digital channels over here seems to play nothing but - I seem to remember flicking through channels multiple times and those two smarmy bitches and their smary fuck friends making smarmy fucking comments... its nothing but that!

I don't get why its so successful - chicks HATE smarmy bitches. Its not escapism.

We've now got a channel over her that is SOLELY dedicated to that "reality" shit. I kid you not. Hour after hour of completely vacuous shite.

In answer to your next question, no I do not know what it is like, I have never allowed it on the TV.

I am just getting into Stranger Things. Not sure about it yet but there's enough there to make me persevere.

I didn't much care for it.

After watching it all the way through I'm coming round to your way of thinking. Not sure I'd invest much time in series 2.

Started on a new series called Good Behaviour, solely on the basis the female lead is hot...

Watched 2 eps, unsure what sort of direction the series will take, but is an easy watch.

Also noticed a couple of other series that look decent - Frontier and is also onecalled Shooter based on Bob Lee Swagger

@taniwharugby have started shooter, it's an easy watch so far and good enough, still not quite convinced by Phillipe in that role but Wahlberg must have been.

Chance is also very good, 8 episodes in.

Watched the first two episodes of Hip Hop Evolution on Netflix last night. I am a sucker for Music documentaries and this one has been a cracker to start with

    @Bones re: shooter

Took one look at it starring Phillippe and decided to give it a wide berth. I keep being reminded of his simpering portrayal in that modern pisstake interpretation of Les Liaisons Dangereuses.

I have to admit that Phillippe is the one negative I feel while watching this. I guess he is Wahlbergs mate or something and needed a job. He isn't a bad actor he just has a really bland face that adds little to his character. Kind of the Affleck effect.
Apart from that I am still watching it as light entertainment because it is reasonably well made.

    So, Westworld....interesting finale.

Oddly, the 2nd season isn't due until 2018.

*********I reckon Hopkins character at the end, was a robot, the way he was talking, it was the plan for Dolores to shoot him, and he has been well ahead of everything so far.

Interesting to see many of the scenes with Dolores were just memories with the young and old William.

Now assume it is called West World, cos there is a South World and so on...? Which brings me to the next bit, given the scale and size, are they on another planet as opposed to somewhere on Earth (although the last scene with Teddy and Dolores was like a movie set)

It hasn't grabbed me like some series, but has kept me interested and left me wanting more.

@taniwharugby isn't it called west world because it's set in the Wild West?

@jegga probably, as that makes sense, although in the final ep they went into another area/world, which made me think there may be other 'worlds'

I've only seen the movie and I think they were differently themed worlds, periods in time or something.

@jegga yep, definitely differently themed, but still, huge f-off area required to do so.

Thanks for the heads up. Have enjoyed the first three eps so far.
Some of the stuff regarding the origins was really interesting. Didn't realise just how long it had been happening before things got more 'noticed'. Good series and some great old footage.

Yeah it's intriguing more than riveting. The final episode was great (and also provided the type of nudity there has always been massive potential for). Will be interesting to see where they go from here. Will it be a type of Terminator thing, man vs machines?

    Spoiler

That Asian dude has to be a host right? No way a human would allow all that shit to go down. His actions are also very robotic.

I finally had an opportunity to watch Stranger Things this week - great fun. I think the Duffer Brothers nailed the 1980s vibe.

You would have enjoyed the movie more if you had watched the series first.

Ok so I've watched the TV series (Firefly).

Pretty good overall, when you remember it was made over a decade ago.

Out of everything in the series what I wanted to know most was the Shepherd's background.

Annoyingly the movie doesn't help there.

Did you watch it in broadcast order or in actual order - did you watch the Train Job first or the longer pilot?
