Don't think Jordie Barrett will play many games for the Naki. He may be a (playing) All Black soon, if he has a good Super Rugby season. Same with Riccitelli if he impresses again in 2017. He may well be next year's apprentice or become the third hooker.

As expected by many of us Magpies supporters, Ricky Riccitelli has returned to Taranaki, where he's signed a 2-year contract.

                  http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/provincial/89195630/tasman-looking-for-new-Mako$-assistant-coach-following-hammetts-departure

The Ta$man Rugby Union is in the market for a new assistant coach following Mark Hammett's decision to remain fulltime with the Highlanders.

Hammett originally signed a two-year deal with the Ta$man union in 2015 when he joined head coach Leon MacDonald at the helm for Ta$man's 2016 national provincial championship campaign.

                  (...)

However, after a season as head coach of Japan's Sunwolves franchise in last year's Super Rugby competition, Hammett subsequently signed on as assistant coach at the Highlanders until 2019.

Ta$man boss Tony Lewis said that while Hammett had every intention of rejoining Ta$man for this year's national provincial championship campaign, he realised that the job was more demanding than he'd anticipated and was unable to fulfil the second year of his Ta$man contract.

Good to see Hammett has finally settled on the job level he probably should have been at years ago.

Poaching bastards! Peas in a pod you lot down south.

Probably better for family. That's the problem when your good players have to spend their money making part of the year in another part of the country. Wish the Chiefs or Blues had grabbed him a few years back instead of those filthy Cantabs

@Crucial Pfew, then that "you lot down South" doesn't apply to me then. Got me confused there. I've only been to the South Island twice.

TBF Star, some of your posting on things red n black suggest you may have some uncle/grandad confusion going on in your ancestry line. 😉

So when is Taufua going to convert to openside is the more important point here rather than discussing which two bit artificially created province he's going to play for.

@Nepia You mean when's he going to convert to hooker? His playing style reminds me of a young Kev.
