@Crucial That's weird; when I posted the link to the decision on Sanchez' citing, the video was still available.

    Here's another link: http://www.espn.com.ar/video/clip/_/id/3025524

That's awesome. For once the jumping player that creates the danger gets cited.
The judiciry would have got into a right tangle though if neither player caught the ball because Sanchez lands on his head.
    Double Red?

Same issue as with the Leitch RC. Once they decide low entry point it will always only be one week unless the player has form.

Is there honestly someone who thinks the Sunwolves will last in this comp? Unless they make some serious changes to the Top League competition that result in the best Japanese players being available for Sunwolves selection and allowing for a proper preseason, they're not going to improve much. Except if they contract a lot more good, non-Japanese players.

How many people watch their games on tv? Is the Japanese public interested? They seemed to attract a big crowd to their first game in Tokyo, but there were a lot of empty seats in the stadium in Singapore. Travel will also always be a factor. I just don't believe in it. Drop them now, so another team can stay (not the Kings).

@Stargazer I didn't realize until the end of last season that the best players weren't made available for the Sunwolves - they are essentially the Brumbies of Japanese rugby. With that model, they are never going to be competitive.

@JayCee Kensuke Hatakeyama is one who hasn't been involved the last 2 years. Don't know why, has played 70 odd tests and has been an automatic selection for Japan at TH prop for several years. Presumably Suntory pays him enough? Kosei Ono another Suntory player not involved who has played a lot of tests, and is arguably Japan's first choice at 10.

Almost no facts in this article about which Aussie team should go. But speculation about a merger:
Rebels confident, Brumbies in firing line

The Brumbies finances and those old fraud allegations should make them favourite to go. However, it would be a shame to throw away the 20+ year history. Maybe the Rebels organisation can take over the name? The Victorian Brumbies?

Shouldn't they have a second side in Sydney? Based in North Sydney?

@Tim If they had a second side in Sydney (which is South Randwick based in Southern NSW), then it should be in Western Sydney, where the talent is.

It's about TV revenue and having a team there doesn't help to grow that pie.

I don't even see why the Sunwolves were added. There is probably more money in the Japanese league than there is in super rugby as it is.

Unless JAL / ANA sponsored it.

@MajorRage Large potential TV audience in Japan if they can be persuaded to watch = big bucks for everyone else.

Insane. I too have a broken femur..no where near as impressive as that though, no cast, no crutches just a sore knee and no chance of getting a seat on a crowded tram. It's amazing how quickly sports guys get back on their feet and into the game after that much damage.

As a red card automatically goes to the Foul Play Review Committee, expect a citing of Bulls' player Renaldo Bothma for this:

@Stargazer I have no problem with that being a red card.

Having said that, I'm forming the opinion that we need to find a way that doesn't make the same penalty grossly different in impact depending on what stage of the game it applies.
