@Pot-Hale I follow a Scottish rugby chat group on FB. They reckon a grand slam is in the bag. Given they have more false dawns than the Black Caps I might not hold my breath on this occuring.

Despite some Scottish ancestry on one side of the family, I won't be pulling the tartan out just yet in anticipation of a public display of adulation next Spring.

      Awesome news.

Love the idea of the Blues and the Crusaders doing a Haka, as well the Chiefs obviously.

I would have thought the Crusaders would be the last to do one but great that they are. I feel like this is something Robertson would be driving, being a slightly less than conservative kind of guy. Maybe they are going to incorporate some break dancing?

Blues haka to be more polynesian influenced? A Samoan flavour would be appropriate, not sure that's do-able though.

What a haka. Wales were like, oh shit, what are we in for here?

Apparently NZ rugby should be quaking in our boots, the Vunipola brothers are coming. I hope they bring their own sports bras, as our shops don't have sports bras with a big enough cup size to fit their man breasts these two lard arses have.

Moob envy - pure and simple.

It's intriguing that you know the national inventory of sports bra stocks though. Commendable even.

So who watched the Sky doco "Pride on the Line" last night?

I enjoyed that, even with Meg as the host. It is always interesting to see footage and interviews from games and players from earlier tours. We also had a sighting of Rodders, who I can't remember seeing since he disappeared from the NZ rugby scene.

                  @Bovidae

I enjoyed it. But 71 to 93 being covered by talking heads only was a let down. Couldn't afford to raid the tvnz archive.

Budget didn't even go far enough for the amateur video of 'the BOD incident' from YouTube?

I couldn't tell if Guscott and Underwood were hamming it up?

It's right up there, Cowan was another that fell off a cliff as well. He was actually pretty decent for a while.

@No-Quarter Cowan came back to NZ, and even had a season with the Blues post-ABs. So'oialo went to Japan briefly and that was it.

Yeah he hung around for longer but his form was dire.

@taniwharugby A mate of mines son plays soccer with Rodney's boy. He told him he simply lost his love for the game, and felt burnt out, which he said affected his form unfortunately

Have seen him about a bit at club level this way. Was coaching the Axemen last year, not sure what he is doing this year.

@taniwharugby Exactly, there was no rest or rotation for him, and he played something like 13 or 14 games on the trot, playing the full 80mins each time

You wonder if that quarter final loss in 07 had an effect too , im talking about the mental side , love of the game etc ,

I remember Richie commenting it took something away from Jerry , in his opinion he was never the same after that

Markets are up on Betfair for all matches for the tour now.

                                      https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/rugby-union/competition/10536624

Not sure how long these Betfair markets have been up, NZ TAB will have poorer prices on the home team and more house take so worse overall.

So the Lions are expected to sweep the Super franchises and get smashed in the test matches.

I am not so sure about the Lions winning all the games against the Super franchises.

And price on the ABs in the test matches looks a bit on the short side.

Approximate prices follow. Ignoring draw outcome.

                                      Lions 1.48+

                                      First test
                                      ABs 1.34
                                      Lions 4.25

                                      Second test
                                      ABs 1.35
                                      LIons 4.5

Third test similar to second test.

Not much in the way of bets matched but early indicative prices are interesting.

Those Blues odds look a bit generous - considering they'll be playing a combination that won't have played much together.

SOB unable to play in Leinster semi tonight which they lost to Scarlets.

Sexton injured. McGrath injured. Furlong injured.

The Lions sick bay is getting crowded with Ken Owens already in there.
