is it worth watching in 3D?
-
The 3D is very similar to Avatar - in that it enhances the all round feeling - and really puts you in the middle of what's happening. Rather than the gimicky 3D where you get shit jumping out at you, the scare effect type 3D. I thought it was well done - and worth going to a 3D theatre to see it. What's the difference in 3D prices compared to 2D in NZ?
-
prices diff is buggar all, well up here anyway (think it is $16.50 inc glasses vs $13.50 for 2D) was more that 3D doesnt enhance some movies, whereas others it does.

Drive - Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Ron Perlman (aka Clay Morrow) and Bryan Cranston (aka Walter White)

Thought it was a good story, just moved a bit on the slow side, but had a decent cast present who all did a fine job. -

I enjoyed the elevator scene. -
Yes, definitely. -

I thought it was a good film, despite the fact it disappeared up its own ass on a number of occasions. The critics love it though, it's been appearing on lots of top 10 lists. You forgot Albert Brooks on the cast list there, he was brilliant as a nasty piece of work.

Ryan Gosling seems to be in everything these days. -
I quite like him as an actor, so I guess he is getting lots of gigs cos of that <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

at RT - yeah the elevator scene was good, bet the chick was a wee bit disturbed at the apparent randomness of it all! -

I like Gosling as an actor to, so I'm not worried. Although I am still bemused that everyone thought he and the Half Nelson movie were awesome. I thought it was an ok movie and that he was ok, no better than in Drive though.

There was some great random violence scenes in drive - the whole robbery and then motel scene was crazy. -
The Guard - set on the west coast of Ireland, where a local cop (Brendon Gleeson) takes on the drug baddies with the help of the FBI (Don Cheadle). Black comedy with some real belly laughs. Gleeson's character is not adverse to taking drugs and entertaining the woman of dark repute. 8.5/10
-
also watched The Guard, after seeing other revoews also was expecting some laughs, sure there were a few moments, but not as I expected, still thought was a good movie, just not quite what I expected.

Fright Night (remake) meh, take the orginal any day! -

The WTF??!! look on her face was priceless, and the look on Gosling's face after his stomp was completed looked like he wanted a post-orgasm cigarette. Disturbing is right. -
Watched The Eagle yesterday . Thought on the whole it was quite well done but a little cheesy in places . Still enjoyed it and worth watching .
That is cos it's awesome, Richard Curtis is a genius. The best ensemble movie ever. Shits all over dross like Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve.
Further proof that women aren't from mars, in fact it's probably a whole other solar system.

Richard Curtis is the living embodiement of Satan himself, look at his filmography
I left off Warhorse because it looks very cool. -
took TR Jnr to see Tintin this afternoon.

Enjoyable film, the animation is brilliant, the 3D is quite subtle I thought.

One very annoying thing about 3D, watching the trailers beforehand; they show a number of other 3D trailers and show alot of 3D moments, which was quite painful on the eyes. -
I watched the worst rom com in the history of the world the other day. The Back-Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez. If the lady in your life even hints about watching this, RUN.

(Unless of course you find hilarity in the thought of doctors doing internal exams on preggy chicks then waving their blood-coated fingers around. Or perhaps someone falling into a recently used birthing pool.)

It was so fucking awful I can hardly bear to think about it, but had to post the warning. -
Hi....I like sylvester stallone movies specially rombo...All parts of this movie are really amazing. I just love all these parts of RAMBO....!
