Drive - Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Ron Perlman (aka Clay Morrow) and Bryan Cranston (aka Walter White)

Thought it was a good story, just moved a bit on the slow side, but had a decent cast present who all did a fine job.
I thought it was a good film, despite the fact it disappeared up its own ass on a number of occasions. The critics love it though, it's been appearing on lots of top 10 lists. You forgot Albert Brooks on the cast list there, he was brilliant as a nasty piece of work.

Ryan Gosling seems to be in everything these days.

I quite like him as an actor, so I guess he is getting lots of gigs cos of that <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

at RT - yeah the elevator scene was good, bet the chick was a wee bit disturbed at the apparent randomness of it all!

I like Gosling as an actor to, so I'm not worried. Although I am still bemused that everyone thought he and the Half Nelson movie were awesome. I thought it was an ok movie and that he was ok, no better than in Drive though.

There was some great random violence scenes in drive - the whole robbery and then motel scene was crazy.

The Guard - set on the west coast of Ireland, where a local cop (Brendon Gleeson) takes on the drug baddies with the help of the FBI (Don Cheadle). Black comedy with some real belly laughs. Gleeson's character is not adverse to taking drugs and entertaining the woman of dark repute. 8.5/10

The WTF??!! look on her face was priceless, and the look on Gosling's face after his stomp was completed looked like he wanted a post-orgasm cigarette. Disturbing is right.

took TR Jnr to see Tintin this afternoon.

Enjoyable film, the animation is brilliant, the 3D is quite subtle I thought.

One very annoying thing about 3D, watching the trailers beforehand; they show a number of other 3D trailers and show alot of 3D moments, which was quite painful on the eyes.

I watched the worst rom com in the history of the world the other day. The Back-Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez. If the lady in your life even hints about watching this, RUN.

(Unless of course you find hilarity in the thought of doctors doing internal exams on preggy chicks then waving their blood-coated fingers around. Or perhaps someone falling into a recently used birthing pool.)

It was so fucking awful I can hardly bear to think about it, but had to post the warning.

The Rite - Anthony Hopkins. About exorcisms. NOt bad, not great, don't pay to see it though, wait for it to hit Sky. 6/10. Good rainy afternoon fodder.

and come chick flick that Mrs B got out. Plain horrib;e. 0/10. Can't remember name so just avoid all chick flicks in case it is this one for the rest of your life.

My son recommended I watch The Social Network so he hired it out yesterday afternoon. Wasn't too bad but he sloped off to his computer a quarter of the way through and my daughter and I watched the rest of it whilst also on our laptops - she was on the net and I was doing a search on Ancestry.com. A sign of the times! Kind of zoned in and out of the movie-funny how the guy who created Facebook was such a socially inept and at times downright spiteful, mean spirited character.

Watched Real Steel the other night, incredibly hokey and predictable, but still enjoyable at times. Giant robots are boxing instead of people. The last part of the movie could have come straight out of Rocky (except the Robots are better actors). 7/10

haha, yeah I watched it the other night too, the genre it is listed under on IMDB is alittle deceiving; Action, Drama, Sci-fi...I'd put more under Fantasy, Family (could add sport to it as it is one of your usual david vs goliath American sports flicks) as I know my 6 year old would love it!

All that being said, was an easy watch!

Watched three movies yesterday thanks to the crap weather.

The Black Swan - reeeeeeeally a bit disturbing. Arty bloody ballet stuff with lots of psychotic characters who do nasty stuff.
Paul - funny Brit flick, two guys pick up an on the run alien hitchhiker.
Get him to the Greek - some parts of this movie were so bloody funny I was nearly crying.
