That is cos it's awesome, Richard Curtis is a genius. The best ensemble movie ever. Shits all over dross like Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve.
took TR Jnr to see Tintin this afternoon.

Enjoyable film, the animation is brilliant, the 3D is quite subtle I thought.

One very annoying thing about 3D, watching the trailers beforehand; they show a number of other 3D trailers and show alot of 3D moments, which was quite painful on the eyes.

I watched the worst rom com in the history of the world the other day. The Back-Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez. If the lady in your life even hints about watching this, RUN.

(Unless of course you find hilarity in the thought of doctors doing internal exams on preggy chicks then waving their blood-coated fingers around. Or perhaps someone falling into a recently used birthing pool.)

It was so fucking awful I can hardly bear to think about it, but had to post the warning.

The Rite - Anthony Hopkins. About exorcisms. NOt bad, not great, don't pay to see it though, wait for it to hit Sky. 6/10. Good rainy afternoon fodder.

and come chick flick that Mrs B got out. Plain horrib;e. 0/10. Can't remember name so just avoid all chick flicks in case it is this one for the rest of your life.

My son recommended I watch The Social Network so he hired it out yesterday afternoon. Wasn't too bad but he sloped off to his computer a quarter of the way through and my daughter and I watched the rest of it whilst also on our laptops - she was on the net and I was doing a search on Ancestry.com. A sign of the times! Kind of zoned in and out of the movie-funny how the guy who created Facebook was such a socially inept and at times downright spiteful, mean spirited character.

Watched Real Steel the other night, incredibly hokey and predictable, but still enjoyable at times. Giant robots are boxing instead of people. The last part of the movie could have come straight out of Rocky (except the Robots are better actors). 7/10

haha, yeah I watched it the other night too, the genre it is listed under on IMDB is alittle deceiving; Action, Drama, Sci-fi...I'd put more under Fantasy, Family (could add sport to it as it is one of your usual david vs goliath American sports flicks) as I know my 6 year old would love it!

All that being said, was an easy watch!

Watched three movies yesterday thanks to the crap weather.

The Black Swan - reeeeeeeally a bit disturbing. Arty bloody ballet stuff with lots of psychotic characters who do nasty stuff.
Paul - funny Brit flick, two guys pick up an on the run alien hitchhiker.
Get him to the Greek - some parts of this movie were so bloody funny I was nearly crying.

I saw Tintin in 3D and it was a huge improvement over the only other 3D movie I've seen (Tron), but I still don't really get the big deal of it, I think I prefer good old 2D.

Tintin was a good movie although I was a little annoyed how it was plainly a set up for the sequel(s).

Does anyone else think that Haddock actually looks like Peter Jackson?

Moneyball - I thought it was a great film, very interesting and I wonder if they use any of the same methods in rugby?

Scream 4 - I thought this was a decent return to form.

I'll have to give the 4th thumps up for moneyball. Watched it yesterday and thought it was great. I don't follow Baseball so had no idea how it ended which made it (for me) even better.

Drive is the other really good movie I've watched recently.

Some of the ones I wished I'd never seen, Blue Valentine as it bored me to tears, Tree of Life as there is only about 30mins of actual story and Tintin I just didn't get in to. Though I never liked the Tintin books so no surprise there.

Watched Bridesmaids because someone had told me it was like a female version of the Hangover . Thought it had some mildly funny bits but on the whole was absolute rubbish .
