Alexander - yeah the one with an Irish bloke trying to play a Greek.

15 mins into this movie and it's amazing just how shit it is. Oliver Stone really went all out with the cliches on this one. Unnecessary scenes, terrible writing and woeful acting. The first battle scene build-up is a blatant rip off of Braveheart.

Comparing Troy and Alexander is chalk and cheese(y).

    Alien: Covenant

Didnt mind it, not great but not disappointing the way Prometheus was.

Maybe it was watching it on the big screen that swayed my opinion of it, but i enjoyed it.
Still had issues, felt rushed, very predictable (thats not always a bad thing)
Overall you get the impression with these prequels that Scott doesnt really seem to have a solid plan to link them up to the original Alien Universe.
Still worth a watch, some great moments and without the completely stupid shit we saw with Prometheus.

7 out of 10 (couldnt think what to use here without giving too much away)

I read an interview with Scott where he said there was a plan but the fans were impatient so he gave them what they wanted with this new one. Gave the impression that he has given up on whatever vision he had.

At least there weren't any midochlorians or Jar-Jars

Best description I've heard about these new films are that Ridley hasn't expanded the Alien universe rather he's shrunken it.
Instead of introducing the xenomorphs as some menacing alien force to be discovered elsewhere in our universe, they are just the creation of an android playing god.

Split: Pretty good, but I thought the Unbreakable tie-in was very meh. McEvoy was great. Should have received an Oscar nomination.

Gee M. Night is seriously hit and miss.

I watched this last night. I agree about James McAvoy - a fantastic performance.

Saw Wonder Woman today, great origin film, and if you like comic movies you love it. Nailed it, IMO.

Odd there wasn't really anything there about Gillies. I read somewhere their techniques have made a bit of a comeback in Afghanistan and Iraq because they are cheaper and use less resources.

    This is Gillies https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Gillies

I saw it again with the better half. Way better second time round. I'll go as far as to say it's the third best of the franchise.

4 Walters out of 5 Davids.

Fuck Netflix , all I've watched is Roadkill, dirt every day , hot rod garage and some docos and we sit down as a family to choose a movie and this comes up as a 92% match on my feed.

Will probably watch it later but there's a principle here goddammit .

Damn Gal Gadot is fine, so so fine.

Wonder Woman was good, best of the recent DC movies so far.

I had a few issues with it though and felt it dragged in parts. There was some average effects at times and I think the premise would have suited WW2 better than WW1. The Wonder Woman action was pretty good though.

Oh, and Gal Gadot is hot, hot, hot.

@Stockcar86 I will check out that podcast, looks interesting.
