I thnk you knew something was up when he went to his friend at the Morgue and
asked her for her help, so you knew he was planning something, Iguess something
as extravagant as he did was even a bit much for Sherlock! I like that there is
a nother series, they have kept it short and sharp kept you wanting more.

Is interesting about Moriaty, as I thought that seemed to easy and too clean,
but possibly too far fetched for both of them to fake their deaths.
-

US TV Season runs from early September to late May. But most shows only have 22 or so episodes. Usually there are new episodes in November, February, and May sweeps periods which are used to establish advertising rates based on viewing numbers, as well as September when the new season starts. The rest of the time, they mix in repeats and new episodes, usually a few grouped together to span the extra weeks.

Alternatively, they run two shows in the same slot. Once they finish the first shows run, they will run a 13 episode cycle of a second show. Usually, to introduce a new series. In this case, Touch is running in place of Bones. Fox especially has to do this, as they only program two hours a day of prime time TV versus CBS/NBC/ABC programing 3 hours a day. And their schedule s even tighter when American Idol is stealing 3 - 4 hours a week of their time slots.
apparently Bones (aka Emily Deschanel) had a baby in real life which was mid-season for Bones and that was the reason....
Anyone watched The Confession with Keifer Sutherland & John Hurt? -
Starting watching Alcatraz and 3 eps in

Nothing to get excited about but, like Person of Interest, kills the time in a reasonably interesting way.

It will really start to piss me off though if the whole plan is to let tiny tiny pieces of the underlying story out every episode and drag it out forever ala Lost, only to eventually reach a weak explanation. Otherwise it is simply a formula cop show.

The women in the show are fairly easy to watch though. -
It's ratings are pretty shit, and it is 50:50 to get renewed. So if they don't reveal the "secret" in the final two (of 13) episodes, you probably will never know. -

I'm not surprised .The show is well made and the premise good but Abhrams need to change up the formula of a mystery (or unknown back story) unpinning formula stories and taking the audience for fools, thinking that they will hang on every possible clue. I certainly got burned with Lost and give up during series 3.

These series need to be thought out like an HBO type production and have a definite evolving storyline that keeps you engaged. If it has to finish after one series then that would probably make better TV.

Homeland was disappointing in that regard as well. It looked like it was heading for a conclusion but the lure of a second dip in the studio's pockets was too much for the writers. -

Anyone else really fucking disappointed by the last episode of Homeland?
Yeah, it was a cop out. Would've been better if it had just been one season. On that note, Sleeper Cell handled the seasons situation much better. -
Ok, saw it. This is my rant
What a fucking cop out. The great thing about the show was the "is he/isn't he" question of the first half. And the "will they stop him" part of the second. And so we get to the big climax, and what happens? Nothing. He doesn't do his bit, the CIA don't do their bit, and she goes nuts. Awesome.

As for the set up for the second series, how could they possibley use the same characters? She's nuts, and no longer works for the CIA, so has zero credibility. He hasn't actually done anything except shoot a real terrorist in the head (killing him with his personal weapon was hardly smart). So to continue the story will effectively be a crazy person stalking a congressman/senator for talking to a terrorist. riveting shit.

The series was great, and if it had stayed at one series i would have loved it, but the ending has left me a little bitter.
-
Sleeper Cell. Watch it.
Agreed, a good season ruined in an extra long finale, still it was probably better than the crap season that had a good finale in the previous 'Irish' season.

Never heard of Confession, just looked it up and it has two pretty big names in Sutherland and Hurt. -
in a bit of a lull in terms of series (have stopped The Wire about half way through S1 for now as I wasnt getting into it, may try again later) so had started watching Whitechapel on TV1 (turned out it was the 2nd series) a UK Crime Drama.

Quite enjoyed it, another of thier 3 episode series, no real names in it, but a few faces I've seen before. -
Sky have announced that they will be showing GoT Series 2 within 48 hrs of its US release.

I guess this is one of their flagship shows for getting subs on SoHo and they have finally woken up to the need to supply quickly or folks will watch it through other means. They were far to slow in showing GoT 1 and many people had already seen it before they screened it.
At least it is an improvement. -
yeah seem to be a few series about now where we are a matter of days or weeks behind instead of months, hasnt taken sky too long to catch on though has it...

S2 of Game of Thrones...thoughts?

I liked it, wasnt a wow one, but they are gonna have to manage the new characters well and squeeze it all in -
I have been hanging out for it . Don't tell me I've missed the start . -
it started on Soho the other day (around 48 hours after the US premier I believe) unless you have other ways to access it...
