@taniwharugby a couple of episodes into The Expanse and it looks good. Very high production values.

Just started watching ' The Son'. Pierce Brosnan doing a surprisingly good job of making me forget he was a crap bond. Looks promising.

Enjoyed it. A different cowboy story.

3 episodes in. Really good so far. Maths isn't my strong point @MiketheSnow but is Eli supposed to be over 80 years old given he'd be in his mid teens in 1849 and it's mainly set in 1915?

I know its been mentioned a few times in here before but just started watching Peaky Blinders over the weekend.

Wife was looking for something to watch on Netflix after finishing whatever she was watching last and I said to give it a crack. Hooked!

up to date with Sinner, and is intriguing.

It seems clear what is going on at that club, but maybe that's just what they want you to think is where the story is going...

Is always frustrating watching most US series where cops are involved and anything that involves a POlice Dept and the Sheriff, State POlice, FBI or whatever, there is always friction and dickwaving, they rarely seem to co-operate or be able to operate with a common goal, but then if that is how it is in RL, then may as well portray it like that.

    Designated Survivor.
Kiefer has moved from 24 to mild mannered reluctant President after (almost) everyone else dies in a State of the Union address.
The acting is hammy, particularly from Kiefer. The plot is predictable until you feel the writers found themselves in a particular situation and determined the easiest way out was a Game of Thrones type surprise.
I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re a fan of a strange mixture of West Wing, 24 and Days of our Lives…

    The Expanse

Finished Season 1 and have to say I'm impressed.

Always like Thomas Jane as an actor, and he brings some real gravity to his role as washed-up-cop-with-something-to-believe-again. The others were largely unknown to me, but put in solid performances with the pilot probably my favourite.

The result is a very good murder mystery/conspiracy gig that you sometimes forget is set 200 years into the future. Some series try to concentrate too hard on the tech, but its more of a bit player in a fairly gritty universe.

Wish there was more of Mars though - the concept of the entire society being dedicated to improving their lot.

The fx and general production values maintained their high standard throughout the series, too. Very well done.

Season 2 drops here on 8th September I believe, and a third season has been commissioned.

Gave that a go and got bored halfway through to be honest. Perhaps it needs more Aliens?
