I think one of the main gripes about TFA will raise it's head yet again with TLJ being a partial re-run of ESB.
They had the launch of a lot of the merch for the upcoming movie the other night and there is apparently a lot of snow/ice related stuff. That's Hoth covered and with Like training Rey like Yoda training Luke and the possibility of a big parental reveal we are heading into familiar territory.
Hopefully SW IX has the equivalent of bikini Leia though. If it's half as good as ESB it'll still be a fucken outstanding flick. Those ships and walkers look incredible. Not sure about those little cute minion looking things though, I'm sniffing Ewok or ( shudder ) Jar Jar types....

I read something the other day where Snokes flagship (presumably that one above) is 60kms long and actually carries Star Destroyers.
Heaps of theories going round the interweb as to who he actually is. Anyone from Darth Plaguis, Mace Windu to Moff Tarkin ( the latter would be cool ).

This theory looks to be closest to the mark IMO.
Remember the cloaked figure that spoke to Vader in the bacta tank in Rogue One?
He was never explained -

He was never explainedI just assumed he was some kind of butler/servant. I doubt very much he'll play a further part in the series.

Here is a pic and article about the new ship and Sweden ships in general:
Bit of fun.

Yeah, he was named in some thing I read. Just someone who looks after Vader.

Whenever I read people dissecting Star Wars like that I wonder if the humourless arseclown ever got the point: 'When these warships enter the screen, my initial rush of wide-eyed wonder is quickly replaced with eye rolls.'
The wide-eyed-wonder I had was when I was five years old.

JJ Abrams back to write and direct Episode IX after they turfed the other guy. Not sure how I feel about that.
Least there will be stability, little bit concerning how they have chewed through a few directors in the last 12 months.

I guess they have to weigh up a chance to direct the best franchise in cinema history vs the hate that comes their way if they fuck it up. Even Lucas isn't immune, it started with the Ewoks and was confirmed with Jar Jar.

I like the hard nose approach of not fucking around, remember they took the movie off of the Rogue One guy too and re did the final act.
But hopefully they are getting better at picking directors. Oh, they fired that Josh Trank Fantastic Four guy too, and canned the Boba Fett movie.
That’s four directors basically screwed over.

The Han Solo movie also had a change halfway through.
Yep, was counting them. Guess I should call them two instead of one.
Their firing was weird. Hire guys known for comedies for making a movie too jokey.

I heard horrific rumours it was ending up more like Ace Ventura than a Star Wars flick. I'm all for a bit of comic relief here and there but not too much.

I read that their approach was way too 'ad-lib' for the execs to be comfortable. I think that initially they wanted an edge of humour but within a framework that wasn't being followed. I am guessing that what they were hoping for is something like Taika Waititi looks to have done with Thor.

I don't think they took Rogue One away from Gareth Edwards - he did the reshoots on that one.

They paid this guy $5 million to come in and do the reshoots and re-write the third act. Which is the bit of the movie I liked, too.
