There's a first series?
There's 3 I think, maybe I was wrong and there were boobies in the first one? There was a complete cast change between S1 and S2 - and I think S1 was a pure Brit production while S2 was targeted at US cable.

S1 had Jodhi May in it and I was extremely disappointed she wasn't in S2. -

Kinda... it follows the guy Porter (who gets a bullet in the head of the first episode of the next series). The actor who played him left to work on the Hobbit.

The US show has 2 seaosns, the UK has 2 season s and a prequel season.
They dont shy away from showing people getting shot in the head, and I think there is a sex scene with boobs at least once in every episode. -

So, is the one with the Brit & Yank and Liam Cunningham S2 of the UK version? Or is each story a series? For example the first Porter story, then the Zimbabwe one, then the Afghan one?

I'm trying to avoid IMDB because of spoilers .... -
Here you go.

I have edited the Wiki article so as not to be spoiling. Looks like the confusion is that what is known as Series 3 in the UK is Series 2 in the US

Strike Back is a British and American action and military television series, based on a novel of the same name by novelist and former Special Air Service (SAS) soldier Chris Ryan.

The series follows the actions of Section 20, a secretive branch of the British Secret Intelligence Service (MI6), who operative several high risk, priority missions throughout the globe. The series began broadcasting on Sky1 on 5 May 2010, showing the first six-part series.
After a second series was commissioned, it was announced that Cinemax would co-produce the franchise. The first episode of the ten-part second series, undergoing the banner title Project Dawn in the United Kingdom, first aired on 12 August 2011.

A third series, under the banner title Strike Back: Vengeance is currently airing in the United Kingdom and United States.

Following Cinemax's participation from the second series, the series faced a re-imagining due of the absence of first series lead Richard Armitage, who was at the time filming The Hobbit in New Zealand.

The first series consists of six episodes. It follows John Porter (Richard Armitage), who resigned from the SAS following the aftermath of a rescue mission in Iraq on the eve of the American led invasion in 2003, where two fellow soldiers were killed, apparently by a thirteen year boy Porter failed to kill, leaving him responsible. Seven years later, Porter is "reactivated" following the kidnap of journalist Katie Dartmouth (Orla Brady) by the same terrorists he fought seven years ago, including the same boy.

The second series consists of ten episodes. Porter is captured by a Pakistani terrorist called Latif (Jimi Mistry) while investigating a planned operation of Latif, Project Dawn. Sergeant Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) finds disgraced ex-Delta Force operative Damian Scott (Sullivan Stapleton), who would not be hired by even private military contractors, who previously worked with Porter to track Latif.

Strike Back: Vengeance,as it is known in the United Kingdom (or Strike Back Season 2 in the United States) is a ten-part third series of Strike Back commissioned by Sky and Cinemax (the second year since Cinemax was brought on board to co-produce the show) in October 2011. The main cast for the series includes Philip Winchester, Sullivan Stapleton, Rhona Mitra, Michelle Lukes and Rhashan Stone. The series began filming in South Africa in January 2012, and premiered on Cinemax on 17 August 2012 and will premier on Sky1 in September. -
ha, I enjoy reading most of Chris Ryans stuff, so I am sure I'll like the series, I'm sold!!

NO idea if I have read this book though, not that I am sure it will matter! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
1st episode of Homeland last night, interesting, the way they introduced Carrie back into the fold was always an obvious one IMO. -

My brother said he watched a new one called Revolution, only 1 ep so far and he said it seemed pretty good. only aired recently, said it was pretty good.

I saw an ad for this on TV2 last night, looks interesting (parts looked similar to Flash Forward) whereby bascially there is no longer electricity and the world is thrown into chaos, only up to ep 2 in the US, so it seems TV companies in NZ starting to realise airing things as close to the origin market is a good idea.... -
Strike Back continues to be good fun, so much titty, and fluffybunnys getting wasted in the head (seems to be the preffered method of offing blokes). Terrifically fun TV.
-
SOA seems to be moving along nicely....thought the cameo by Walter Goggins in the latest episode was brilliant!

The Tranny?

That Tig is one weird screwed up dude. I see Clays grubby fingers all over those home invasions too. -
haha, yep, thats the one, and yep Tig is farked up, although he's always been like that, IIRC in the first series he mentioned something about getting turned on by dead people or something?

Yeah possibly, I wonder if it is to do with the Mayor, although both could be.... -
Sunday night is TV night! Season 2 of "Homeland", then "Vegas" which i thought was pretty cool, and then "Strike Back" (best opening credits ever). Good stuff.

So Sorkin fans - what's the verdict on Newsroom. Personally I'm loving it. It has all the trademarks of his drama's but I'll put up with a lot just for the quality of his monologues. Just like Jed Bartlett was the President we should have, Newsroom is the TV news we will never get.

It's okay. Overtly anti-Fox and whilst some of it is far fetched they do capture what has become an extremely fast paced, short grab, controversy laden industry (24 hour news that is) -

Revolution has aired ep 1 & 2, and yes you have to ask what happened to the electricity and power (I mean why did anything powered, be it powered by electricity or not suddenly stop working)

Looks watchable, certainly not a must watch...got a wee concerned to see JJ Abrahms is involved, I still havent forgiven him for Lost! -

I watched the first half of the opening episode(s) and thought, what a crock of shit. They just set up a scenario without any rhyme or reason or attempt at explanation and then kicked off a story in this 'new world'. I stopped watching but kept the recording going just in case.

Last night I thought I'd give it a bit more effort and watched the rest, followed by last night's episode. It looks like they do actually have some kind of 'mystery' behind the lack of power and even a backstory being explained at a reasonable rate. Still way and wondering how much time I'll give it to grab me but my feeling is that it's either going to get better or worse very quickly. -
Its Abrahms Lost influence!!

Yeah I usually take 5 or 6 episodes before I decide if I dont like something (in the case of Lost it was 5 or 6 years)
