Yep will be an interesting fight this weekend.

WOnder if AJ will really look to make a statement and try finish it early. Takam has only been stopped once, can AJ be the 2nd man to do it? $9 for fight to go the distance is great value. I got on fight to go over 4.5 rounds @ $2.50 not long after it was announced but its now down to $1.90.

I think its 10am our time on Sunday. Looking forward to it

Over 4.5 round easy $$$ although was a bit worried near the end of the 4th

    He was OK

Takam is durable and we all know that. As usual AJ's fitness wasnt great and he looked a bit gassed after 5 or so rounds

The stoppage seemed a wee bit out of place however AJ did a fair bit of damage to Takam who appeared to not be seeing too well and was wearing a lot of punches. While he hit takam a plenty he couldnt put him away. Takam didnt appear to be being really hurt by them but maybe a knockout would have come eventually, maybe!

Ridiculous stoppage. Joshua caught Takam with one or two good shots then you could see Takam was using his good head movement (like the rest of the fight) to avoid them. Very poor work from the ref. As Paulie Malignaggi said afterwards...this is why you have neutral refs. Joshua would've won on points but Takam didn't deserve the mat pulled from under him like that

Agree to all of the above.

Was suprised that Takam boxed so well considering the blood running from above both eyes.

    He's a tough bastard.

Think AJ trained his body size for Pulev but against the smaller Takam he needed to be 2 seconds faster not 2 stone heavier.

But awesome, awesome night for my first Championship fight.

    Great atmosphere and epic seats

I thought AJ weighed in well under what he was for Klitscho?

I read it was his heaviest weight to date

I think we are seeing the lie that was the resurgence of the heavyweight division coming out for all to see.

AJ is a good heavyweight fighter and he deserves his belt, great hands, great speed for a giant. I am not convinced he's clean. I hope he is as he is a very likeable guy. But he really hasn't fought anyone outside of Klitschko. He got rocked by Dillian Whyte and his chin has looked suspect a couple of times now. Takam gave him a really good go. I think aside from the cut and the stoppage Takam fought better against AJ than he did Parker.

Wilder is vicious, punches to kill not just score and has defended 6 times. However he's fought bums his entire career. Has the worst technique of any current top 10 boxer and Im convinced his jaw is made of glass. Just hasn't met anyone with the ability to touch him up.

Parker is going backwards at a rate of knots. The skill we saw early has made way for off balance haymakers and zero footwork. I have said it before and I will say it again, either Barry does not know how to get the best out of his fighters and is a poor trainer or he is a weak personality that can not get his fighter to listen to him. I've heard him in the corner and it sound like rubbish. Hughie Fury's Dad was brilliant as a corner man. I think if he took on Parker we'd have a very good champion on our hands.

When you fall back beyond these three. The waters get very murky. Dangerous fighters lurk here but whether they are naturally dangerous is an issue. Povetkin & Ortiz are shady with the steroid use. There's still Haye and Pulev but they're getting on. Pulev isn't actually that good and Haye is broken. H.Fury is a fat cruiserweight IMO and he and Tony Bellew shouldn't even be getting a look in if this was a true heavyweight division but they are.

Things are better than they have been for years but its still got miles to go before it's ever great again.

I just watched Wilder beat Stiverne in the 1st Rd. 3 knock-downs but he did get away with a punch to the back of the head.

I don't know what that says about Wilder now but he has made a statement.

Stiverne looked horrible though so its hard to get a gauge ,

Wilder has power, never a doubt about that , but has technique issues ,

Bit of cat and mouse going on in the division ,

Eddie Hearn is offering up a fight with Dillan Whyte to wilder with a decent payday ,

Wilder is saying he doesnt want Whyte , forget him, give me Joshua ,

Seems like Hearn has offered Joseph a fight with AJ with a 20 % cut, Higgins is saying not enough ,

But its a difficult one because Joseph draws little interest anywhere outside NZ and is still going to earn a lot more coin on that 20% than he would anywhere else .

That fight was a farce. Stiverne should never have been mandatory after one gift decision in 3 years. The WBC should hold their heads in shame.

Watch the wilder fight too. What a joke.

Must say tho, he has plenty of intent, and 50cent. Not sure what else

Wilder will get killed by AJ. He was only 220lbs for this fight. AJ and JP hover around 250lbs. He made statement and thats how you get noticed but at least two of those punches were open hand slaps. Stiverne threw about 2 half hearted punches and Wilder his staunch no defense shit he does. I am 100% sure Parker would seriously hurt Wilder if he wanted to.

I think Hearn sees JP as the easy money and less of a danger to AJ and this is why Parker is seen as the next fight. But Parker has that chin and if he can get some external help for Barry, he could win.

Wilder is a joke. He has no business being in a boxing ring. He's like Kimbo Slice IMO. Thats not to say he is not dangerous. But he is not a boxer. He is all spectacle.

i think joe is too heavy ,

Looks like a slow piece of lard , needs to shred some of that fat off , every fighter has an optimum weight where he performs best , that is where you should be weighing in , forget about your oppositions weight .

An interesting stat , Ali and Tyson never fought a fighter lighter than themselves.

Me too, I commented above that I think it's madness that Joseph is set to go back in the gym to bulk up some more. Exactly the same mistake was made with Tua.

Get him out running miles and sparring, that's how a boxer is supposed to train.

I thought his best natural strength was his quick hands ,

As he has got heavier that seems to have disappeared , and it doesn’t look like good weight anyway , his body fat content looks too high to me .

Just makes you wonder if they know what they are doing .

Im going to agree. But I don't think Joe is actually even trying to use his speed. Barry has him out here trying to make statements by throwing shit hay makers that are supposed to KO guys.Imagine the statement he'd make by absolutely pummeling a guy with speed for 12 rounds. Might not finish the guy with a KO but they'll be banged up enough for people to actually fear getting in the ring with him.
