Yeah, and indulgent also can be linked with people with a short attention span = 5min without action!!?? BORING!! Sure it isn't a long story but there are a lot of characters to establish. I'm ok with a slower pacing to begin with. We are trying to get tickets at the Embassy so it'll be 48 HFR (and 3D I think). Can't wait!

Martin Campbell did Casino Royale and Goldeneye. I guess they will save him for the next reboot though.<br />
<br />
They have locked in the writer of Skyfall to write the next two, which will be a linked story like Craig's first two Bonds. Apparently they are going to be filmed back to back, which will be a good idea as Craig is starting to look his age.<br />
<br />
<br />
Dunno Kirwan, he looked in pretty awesome shape and without giving too much away it has to be remembered that the character has a few issues to deal with which explained a bit of a "weathered" look. Grey facial hair doesn't help either. You're right though, absolutely no reference to the first two Bonds that he did but if you look at past ones they can't really be treated as a chronological "series" as such although in "On her majestys secret service" ( which I think is one of the best, don't care what others think ) there is a bit of a poignant moment where George Lazenby reminisces about all the shit that Sean Connery got up to. <br />
<br />
Roger Moore was 58 when he did View to a Kill and whilst the tone of those movies was obviously pretty different ( although that one also featured an awesome bleach blond lead villain ) I think he did the job pretty damn well. His stunt double sure got up to a few hi jinks. I think Craig has the gig for as long as he wants it personally.....

48 HFR (and 3D I think).<br />
<br />
<br />
Unless I am mistaken, all the HFR "reels" are projected 3D, and all the 2D projections will be regular 24FPS.

I heard some radio guys up here raving gobsmacked about the HFR 3D experience, they are not LOTR or Hobbit fans, and they were blown away. That's encouraging.<br />
<br />
And this article goes a long way to explaining that many people will not like it (may in fact hate it) but also persuading me to go.<br />
<br />
I never really required the persuasion - I was already sold in theory - but I'm still worried about the reliability of the projector. Despite the worry, I think I will go first to the HFR 3D, which is the intended format.

anyone know what they have classified The Hobbit as? M, PG?<br />
<br />
Went to Event Cinemas and it is showing as TBC, given Tolkein wrote it for his kids and TR Jnr (7) is keen to see it.

Seven Psychopaths: Classic Tarantino, except it aint Tarantino. It's the same guys who brought us In Bruge and also stars Colin Farrell but here he's joined by Christopher Walken, Tom Waits, Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell.<br />
<br />
It's crazy, convoluted, twisted, gory and funny as fuck. A couple of deep belly laughs from yours truly. I'd describe the plot but I can't be arsed to try, except to say that Farrell's character is a screenwriter struggling on a script about Seven Psychopaths and Rockwell is the friend trying to help him out.<br />
<br />
Rockwell is obviously having a ball overacting his ass off but Harrelson and co aren't far behind.<br />
<br />
Right up my strasse, as they say.

As anyone (and RT i am looking straight at you) watched Dave Grohl's documentary "Sound City"? I love me a music documentary, and this one looks pretty damn good, seems like a lot of pretty awesome people went through that studio, and Dave got a lot of them to have a chat.<br />
<br />
So is it worth it?

Secret Honor<br />
<br />
Philip Baker Hall gave an astonishingly good performance in Altman's film of this one man Nixon play.<br />
<br />
Highly recommended.<br />
<br />
I love how at the start you can tell that Nixon is settling in for a solid evening of drinking and raging. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I saw that one when it was released, and again pair of times on TV. It is excellent. If I'm not mistaken, I believe it was originally a one-man play. Altman basically just turned the camera on and captured it. Doesn't particularly look like Dick, but then later embodies him perfectly, especially the drinking (apparently he could get hammered on a single cocktail) and venting at the portraits on the wall.

Lawless: Tom Hardy, Shia LeBouf, Gary Oldman, a tripping Guy Pearce, and Jason Clarke (the cop from The Chicago Code and one of the brothers from Brotherhood TV shows). Set in the prohibition era, Hardy, LeBouf and Clarke are three brothers selling and making moonshine. Guy Pearce is a law enforcement guy who first attempts to shake them down and then tries killing them. I was really looking forward to this film and although good, I wouldn't call it outstanding. Hardy who is pretty good in everything normally seemed to be overacting, LeBouf played the whiny youngest brother too well, Oldman was underused as a gangster and Pearce was very odd. I'm about to read the book that it's based on called the "The Wettest County in the World". 6.5/10<br />
<br />
<br />
Margin Call: Kevin Spacey, Spock (the new one), Demi Moore (who seems to be one of the few stars with good plastic surgery, she looks good), The Mentalist, Paul Bettany are bankers (basically Goldman Sachs but called something else) at the beginning of the financial crisis working out what to do when one of their analysts discovers that they are excessively leveraged and a 25% drop in value of mortgage securities they hold will cause a loss greater than their market capitailsation. A bit more exciting than the Too Big To Fail which was a more 'real' version. 8/10

thought Pearce was v-good for most of the movie, although the character seemed too unbelievable at the end. Thought the ending with Hardy was a bit weak, although if thats what happened, thats what happened...<br />
<br />
IIRC the book was written by the brothers family, so how much that skews the actual facts is open for debate I guess...

Yeah, the book was written by Shia LeBouf's character's grandson. Although the book is more about the case of the District Attorney's (the guy in the car) court case - he got charged with racketeering I think and the brothers and most of the other townsfolk gave evidence.<br />
<br />
I thought the ending was the worst part about the whole movie TBH.

yeah it was a shitty ending, but I guess if thats how it happened...?<br />
<br />
Although I am guessing there was alot of poetic licence involved, so why not give it a better ending.<br />
<br />
Resident Evil Retribution - more of the same really, but at least Milla Yoyovich is easy on the eye, plus it is easily under 1.5 hours.

Silver Linings Playbook. 7.5/10<br />
<br />
Came recommended from Deadspin, who called it the "best sports movie ever" (or something). It's not. And, it's only tangentially related to sports, tho' there is certainly a LOT of superstitious stuff about the Philadelphia Eagles at the centre of the whole thing, esp. from the Robert DeNiro character. It's a romance comedy about two loons (Bradley Cooper and the Hunger Games chickette). Being that it's directed by David O. Russell (Spanking the Monkey, Flirting with Disaster, Three Kings, Huckabees, etc.), this isn't your regular romance flick.

Bourne Legacy - milking a franchise? On its own is your runof the mill action film, sits outside themBourne books although ran concurrent with the last Bourne movie too...but is watchable, although a bit long.

I mostly enjoyed it because I was trying to join the dots with the original Bourne that it runs parallel with. But, the ending annoyed the hell on me, a way too long chase and then an abrupt ending solely designed to set up a sequel.
