      UFC 217

      Zahabi v Ramos
If at first you don't succeed...
Great second attempt at spinning elbow from Ramos turns Zahabi's lights out

      Oleinik v Blaydes
What a chin on Oleinik in Round 1
Then a controversial illegal kick that barely brushed Oleinik's ear in Round 2 caused confusion before Blaydes got the TKO after the ref called Oleinik couldn't continue

      Brown v Gall
A war, back and forth, but Brown too strong

      Saint Preux v Anderson
Tough, tough battle with Saint Preux tiring and down on the cards and then he pulls out a roundhouse kick to the head that puts Anderson out for the count
      Wow

      Harris v Godbeer
Godbeer spent most of the first round on his back but did a good job of covering up
Then Harris has an accidental low blow followed by a kick to the face after the ref called time twice
Harris DQd, Godbeer with the win. Not that he knew anything about it
Harris will come though. Fast, dynamic and tough. With skills

      Vick v Duffy
Really good back and forth fight with Duffy ahead on the cards
Then Vick catches Duffy with a great uppercut for the ref to stop the fight just before the 2nd round buzzer

      Hendricks v Costa
Costa too big, too quick, too skillful for Hendricks. But Hendricks durable and game. And experienced.
A pissed off Costa ups the pace in the second round and Big John McCarthy calls it after a Costa barrage

      Thompson v Masvidal
Masvidal bamboozled by Thompson's speed and style

      Jedrzejczyk v Namajunas
      WOW
What a fight, what a finish from Namajunas
      Accurate and punishing

      Barbrandt v Dillishaw
      WOW
      So fast
      Brilliant finish from TJ
      Rematch please

      Bisping v GSP
      MSG, GSP, OMG

      BEST CARD EVER

For me this was all about GSP. Just seeing him come to the ring was surreal. He was awesome. Bisping is a division gate keeper that somehow ended up champion. So theres got to be something said about that... I hope GSP sticks around. I think if he stays at middleweight Whittaker will ruin him. You could see Whittaker licking his lips after the fight. So would be happy to see him go back to Welterweight. But Woodley is a hell of a speed bump. It's not an easy road either way he goes.

Rose Namajunas was the obvious surprise of the night. Scary to think she is only 25. I have been a fan for a while. She started out as a bit of a gimmick. Another pretty girl, Paige Vanzant type. But she went away from being a poster girl, shaved her head, ditched the bikinis at weigh ins and became a fucken weapon. Huge, huge fan of Thug.

No Love really started to get it going but lost composure. Dillashaw is a hard puzzle to solve but I think he was more lucky than anything there has to be a rematch. I know the money is for a Cruz fight next up but I'd rather see these 2 go at it again.

Time for Hendricks to give it away.

            UFC Fight Night 120

            CLAY GUIDA V JOE LAUZON
            Guida's never looked better
            Sharp, dynamic and accurate
Great TKO finish in the 1st Round

            RAPHAEL ASSUNCAO V MATTHEW LOPEZ
Game effort from Lopez but Assuncao' experience shone through
Awesome finish in the 3rd Round and great pull out with Lopez buckled and out cold
            Great refereeing too

            NATE MARQUARDT V CEZAR FERREIRA
            Thought Marquardt had done enough

            JUNIOR ALBINI V ANDREI ARLOVSKI
Some heavy hitting from both fighters in the 1st
Much the same in the 2nd. A bit of a stand-up wrestling match then trading punches. Hell of a chin on Albini and Arlovski crisper to the punch
Great round for Arlovski. Best he's been for ages. Huge variety in his arsenal
Albini was a perfect opponent. Slow
            Deserved unanimous decision for Arlovski

            BROWN V SANCHEZ
            Did not disappoint
Brown took a liver shot early then elbowed Sanchez out as he was holding Sanchez's leg
            Classic Brown

            DUSTIN POIRIER V ANTHONY PETTIS
Awesome 1st Round. Wrestling, kicking, banging. Pettis did well to see the bell.
Wrestling reversals, brutal ground and pound, blood pissing from Pettis. A war
Poirier's wrestling too strong and Pettis taps with what looked like a popped rib

            Great card

Kassem patient and waited for Chambers to burn herself out to get the unanimouse decision

Not a great Early Prelim Card

              BROWN V CAMACHO

              COULTER V TUIVASA

Crushing leg kick floored Coulter and then he followed up with a flying knee to spark out Coulter

              LENTZ V BROOKS
Brooks sharper and quicker to the punch for 1 1/2 rounds then Lentz ties Brooks up an gets the tap from a guillotine

              BENOIT V MOKHTARIAN
A dance and Benoit with the better moves

              That's more like it 🙂

              VOLKANOVSKI V YOUNG
Volkanovski too strong for unanimous decision

              Kelly was game

              MATTHEWS V VELICKOVIC

Round 3 back and forth on the floor, then when it got back to the feet Medeiros piled on the pressure and finished Oliveira
                Awesome fight

                OLIVEIRA V FELDER

@mikethesnow it was a great card and hugely enjoyed seeing Overeem get monstered. I was once a fan but since he got off the roids he's just a smug cnut that and his best clearly came out of a syringe or a bottle.

Holloway should be chasing McGregor. I think he'd win.

Alvarez is a warrior and I was happy to see him come out on top of an absolute war.

"[Dana] White knew then that GSP was ready to bounce back to welterweight, and a week after airing his druthers at the media gathering it’s all but official. The UFC is now flirting with the idea of having Luke Rockhold challenge Whittaker at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia, come February, in all likelihood for the undisputed (vacated) middleweight belt. GSP made the idea come off as a wise move by announcing that he was battling ulcerative colitis, an inflammation of the digestive tract that was complicated—he said during an interview with Canadian SportsCentre—by unnaturally gorging himself to make the higher weight. What kind of boss would willingly turn his best pound-for-pound fighter into a glutton?"

Main event changed at the start of the week. Now three fights cut because of Conor

As for what’s left of the card.. Khabib should maul Holloway. I’ll be cheering for Holloway though. Who knows, maybe he can stay on his feet long enough and make Khabib burn energy on takedown attempts.

I’m picking Joanna to avenge her loss

Rumours abound that Brock Lesnar will be returning to UFC after Wrestlemania. Dana White has said as much, although until Brock actually turns up, I guess we can't be certain.

This feels like a massive publicity stunt to me.

REgardless, will be interesting to see how it plays out. Tough decision for White ... kick out the UFCs biggest (and by a country mile) superstar, or try and make peace with a guy whose clearly out of control.

Do you think the UFC deliberately injured fighters, or do you think everyone the bus was in on it?

Seems more likely Conor had too much coke

@duluth I think that Conor showing up was a publicity stunt. Just escalated more than expected.

                                  Yeah, that’s possible.

Thats very different to the post I was responding to though. I don’t think it’s a massive publicity stunt because three fights dropping off an already weakened card is a disaster.

Just imagine if that was Davey Warner and the Proteas team bus.

This is what I mean ... publicity stunt by Conor, for Conor

                                          It keeps getting worse

Khabib was originally meant to fight Ferguson. He injured himself tripping over at the start or the week. Then comes Holloway who pulled out today because the NY commission wasn’t happy with his weight cut. Then they went to Pettis who was left without an opponent because of Conor... he couldn’t make weight. Then they tried Felder, the commission blocked that on lack of a ranking.

Now the opponent is Al Iaquinta. He also didn’t make weight so it’s at a catch weight. Khabib will destroy him. He was meant to be fighting Felder, so now Felder has no opponent.

                                          It was 13 fights now it’s 9.

The should move the women’s fight up to be the main event
