@Tim said in 50 Years of Star Trek:

They actually do quite a bit of exploring eventually, and get the federation into a lot of trouble.

One of things that always amused me is the compulsory casting in those Star Trek spinoffs of actors from Benson.

How's that for "you're old" reference?

@Tim I really enjoyed it - apart from the shapeshifting sheriff dude and the attendant mysticism

Quite a bit darker than other Trek series and examines deeper themes. Lots of politics, betrayals plus some kick arse adversaries.

    27 days late but..
I felt the same about DS9 ...i got the same vibe as you. but a couple of seasons in and it became one of my favorite in the series. It really has a quality big 'arc'

Trailers for the new TV show are out. Looks like it will be following the fine Trek tradition of taking a couple of seasons to find its feet ...

Dissapointed that the Klingons look like the STNG version, not the version from the original series

    Some good news:

    Star Trek: Discovery's showrunners fired.

    Better news:

New shows considered, including a Patrick Stewart series.

    Oh no:

The potential new shows are said to include: A series set at Starfleet Academy from creators Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz. The duo most recently developed the CW’s reboot of “Dynasty” and previously created shows like “Gossip Girl” and Hulu and Marvel’s “Runaways.”

Maybe they should let Quentin make a Star Wars movie. Of course it has to be a Mace Windu movie!!

It’s not as good as you think, the show runners were fired because of how they were treating the staff. And the guy now in charge is the one who conceived the whole thing.

So it shouldn’t be much different, unless you work there 🙂

I’m very worried about how they are going to handle Spock. He’s been confirmed for season 2.

Well, killing off the main character is the only way the show could possibly be redeemed. Maybe season 3 won't be absolutely awful!

I doubt I'll watch the second season. Will watch The Orville though, despite Seth McFarlane.

It's Star Trek, how would redeeming it be possible?
