I wouldn't kick her out of the bed, but she'd have to ask nicely to be there in the first place.

Ye gods, the ticking time bomb trope. Fuck me that was bad. And trains! What is it with fucking trains? Even in Skyfall there's a fight on top of a train. Nobody fights on top of a train. It's not possible. And yet directors and stunt coordinators continue to insist on train-top combat in defiance of the laws of physics and self-preservation.

Octopussy was bad, but The Living Daylights is just awful. Timothy Dalton's Bond might as well have been renting his arse out in Old Compton Street he was that much of a man. In a scene with Maryam d'Abo he says they have to get out of town. She says she has to go home and get her cello first. Cut to the next scene of Dalton waiting for her in a car outside her flat. Call me old fashioned but a real Bond would have smacked her in the mouth, fucked her sideways and then dumped her in the boot with her knickers for a gag.
Brilliant.
But Moores first two efforts were his best, he was actually pretty ruthless, surprisingly so. In "Live and Let die" blatantly nailing the black chick and then pointing a gun at her for information then in "Man with the Golden Gun" threatening to break the Swedish chicks arm. Despite the bad puns and slighly dodgy fight scenes he was much more hardass than people gave him credit for.

Watched Les Miserables today and really enjoyed it. Russell Crowe is bollocks in it (all his singing scenes he looks like he is in a music video for his band) but everyone else is really good , especially Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen as the Thenardiers. 7/10 and will probably win the Oscars knowing how things go in Hollywood (though we all know it should be The Raid)

My personal pet theory is that each new Bond actor reads the source material before they embark on their 007 adventure and thus, realising what a nihilistic, mysoginistic, psychopath Bond is, plays him accordingly. But after a few movies their inner luvvy can't deal with being a such a bastard that they inevitably regress. Lets hope Daniel Craig has the ability to keep it real for the rest of his run.

Saw the hobbit part 1 and thought it was pretty bloody good actually. I was a bit conflicted about the "add-on" parts to begin with but enjoyed the screen time of Radagast in particular and was thankful they actually did add to the movie rather than take away from it or just look like cheap padding.

Bit of a " jobs for mates" at points but it was part of the larger LOTR thing Jackson has done with a large part of his professional life.

He seemed more upset at M bagging it than he did Vespa, which makes no sense to me.

Took the kids to see; Rise of the Guardian in 3D.

Miss TR didnt really like the 3D glasses after about 40mins, Master TR doesnt think much of 3D either...anywhoo, movie, was a good kids film, Hugh Jackmans character (Easter Bunny) was pretty funny (think Crocodile Dundee) and an interesting take on Santa...It was enjoyable enough, and at just over an hour and a half, all good for the kids.

Master TR is keen to see The Hobbit, Life of Pi and Wreck it Ralph...I wanna see the Hobbit and heard good things about the latter, so Pi can continue to be a long number...

Mrs CF went to Life of Pi today, said the best thing about it was the 3D, otherwise so-so. We've both read the book but from what she said they didn't really make anything of the metaphoric nature of the animals on the lifeboat. Either that or she wasn't paying attention

Have seen a few movies during the holiday period.
The perks of being a wallflower - Really enjoyed this, kind of a darker teen movie about some kid trying to fit in in a new school 8/10

The inbetweeners movie - some genuine laugh out loud moments, probably help if you've already been watching the series. Might have gone on a bit long. 7/10

Into the wild - about a bloke who decides to give up on a normal life and instead decides to go bush and live off the land. Fantastic movie with a great soundtrack, I believe eddie vedder colaborated. Based on a true story too 9/10

Saw the life of Pi, quite enjoyed it .One of those films you are still thinking about a couple of days afterwards, definitely one for the big screen though. It would look very average on tv I suspect.
The hobbit didn't seem like three hours at all, kind of reminded me of the Indiana Jones movies with pretty much non stop action.
The books worth reading, not sure if you can believe everything Krakaur says but the main character was a very odd kid. The movie isn't quite true to the book , not that it really matters I guess.

I'd have trouble watching that movie - no excuse for poor preparation.

Yeah possibly. Ironically enough the closest in theme to that one was "On her majestys secret service" given that Lazenby, despite looking the part and being probably the best Bond scrapper ever ( honourable mentions to Connerys legendary brawl with Robert Shaw in From Russia with Love and of course virtually every Craig punch up ) was a bit wooden at times. He looked genuinely concerned when Blofelds thugs were chasing him in the village ( Moore or Brosnan woulda laughed it off ) and yeah, genuinely devestated when Mrs Bond bags it right at the end. I think the series woulda been fascinating if he'd had 6-7 films but of course Roger Moore did a fantastic job albeit in a completely different style.

I'm the same with that dickhead who got his arm trapped under a rock.If he had of left a note he'd have both his arms, got halfway through the book and gave up.

From what I've read elsewhere both the book and movie aren't quite true to the facts, a little bit of exaggeration for Holywood effect, unecessary really as it is still an incredible story.
