Have seen a few movies during the holiday period.
The perks of being a wallflower - Really enjoyed this, kind of a darker teen movie about some kid trying to fit in in a new school 8/10

The inbetweeners movie - some genuine laugh out loud moments, probably help if you've already been watching the series. Might have gone on a bit long. 7/10

Into the wild - about a bloke who decides to give up on a normal life and instead decides to go bush and live off the land. Fantastic movie with a great soundtrack, I believe eddie vedder colaborated. Based on a true story too 9/10

Saw the life of Pi, quite enjoyed it .One of those films you are still thinking about a couple of days afterwards, definitely one for the big screen though. It would look very average on tv I suspect.
The hobbit didn't seem like three hours at all, kind of reminded me of the Indiana Jones movies with pretty much non stop action.
The books worth reading, not sure if you can believe everything Krakaur says but the main character was a very odd kid. The movie isn't quite true to the book , not that it really matters I guess.

I'd have trouble watching that movie - no excuse for poor preparation.

More in tune with the character after 3 films? He was all tough no sensitive side in Casino Royale
Yeah possibly. Ironically enough the closest in theme to that one was "On her majestys secret service" given that Lazenby, despite looking the part and being probably the best Bond scrapper ever ( honourable mentions to Connerys legendary brawl with Robert Shaw in From Russia with Love and of course virtually every Craig punch up ) was a bit wooden at times. He looked genuinely concerned when Blofelds thugs were chasing him in the village ( Moore or Brosnan woulda laughed it off ) and yeah, genuinely devestated when Mrs Bond bags it right at the end. I think the series woulda been fascinating if he'd had 6-7 films but of course Roger Moore did a fantastic job albeit in a completely different style.

I'm the same with that dickhead who got his arm trapped under a rock.If he had of left a note he'd have both his arms, got halfway through the book and gave up.

From what I've read elsewhere both the book and movie aren't quite true to the facts, a little bit of exaggeration for Holywood effect, unecessary really as it is still an incredible story.

Also saw this, initially to indulge Mrs TR, but I also quite liked it, although I though it would end up being my fault as the movie drew to,a close and an ending looked likely. I feel kinda bad, but Emma Watson is tidy!

Mrs hired Ted on the iPad so we had a watch. I quite liked it. Some good LOL moments from my point of view, but them my expectations weren't that high.
Just finished reading Krakaurs book where men win glory about this guy http://en.wikipedia..../Pat_Tillman I can see it being made into a film too. It was quite hard to read towards the end, when I heard his parents were suing the army I just thought it was the usual bullshit american lawsuit but they actually have a point.

Was waiting for someone to comment on that, has some very mixed reviews, but I'll have a peak now, I trust the TSF review system much better, even you <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I think that the "mixed" reviews have largely come from political commentators. It has gotten all most unanimously good reviews from critics.
Saw Jack Reacher last night, it was good but I wouldn't be gutted if you missed it at the theatre and had to wait for the DVD.

    Trouble with the Curve

A formulaic baseball movie starring Clint Eastwood as an ageing baseball scout. Even though it is predictable I am a sucker for a sports movie and still enjoyed it
7/10
