The books worth reading, not sure if you can believe everything Krakaur says but the main character was a very odd kid. The movie isn't quite true to the book , not that it really matters I guess.
From what I've read elsewhere both the book and movie aren't quite true to the facts, a little bit of exaggeration for Holywood effect, unecessary really as it is still an incredible story.

Have seen a few movies during the holiday period.
The perks of being a wallflower - Really enjoyed this, kind of a darker teen movie about some kid trying to fit in in a new school 8/10
Also saw this, initially to indulge Mrs TR, but I also quite liked it, although I though it would end up being my fault as the movie drew to,a close and an ending looked likely. I feel kinda bad, but Emma Watson is tidy!

Mrs hired Ted on the iPad so we had a watch. I quite liked it. Some good LOL moments from my point of view, but them my expectations weren't that high.
Just finished reading Krakaurs book where men win glory about this guy http://en.wikipedia..../Pat_Tillman I can see it being made into a film too. It was quite hard to read towards the end, when I heard his parents were suing the army I just thought it was the usual bullshit american lawsuit but they actually have a point.

Was waiting for someone to comment on that, has some very mixed reviews, but I'll have a peak now, I trust the TSF review system much better, even you <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I think that the "mixed" reviews have largely come from political commentators. It has gotten all most unanimously good reviews from critics.
Saw Jack Reacher last night, it was good but I wouldn't be gutted if you missed it at the theatre and had to wait for the DVD.

    Trouble with the Curve

A formulaic baseball movie starring Clint Eastwood as an ageing baseball scout. Even though it is predictable I am a sucker for a sports movie and still enjoyed it
Went and saw The Hobbit in HFR 3D, loved it. Not sure what the negativeness towards the HFR is all about, never bothered me apart from slight feeling of nausea.
Made the movie look so much clearer and smooth, also not sure the bullshit re the effects suffering due to the higher frame rate. Thought it was bloody impressive, Gollum never looked better. And was impressed with the Goblin King.
Can't wait for the next part in 12 months
Baytown Outlaws - A few b-grade actors/actresses (Eva Longoria, Zoe Bell, Billy-Bob Thornton, MIchael Rappaport) in a Tarantino-ish movie, lots of gun battles, lots of killing, lots of BS...only an hour and a half, but watchable for a bit of mindless movie watching.

Sightseers: sort of a Brit Bonnie & Clyde, except in a caravan. You see a film every now and then that makes you go umm, err, what the holy jeeping fxxk was that? Not so much 'dark' as pitch black when it comes to the comedy and the gore. Cute dog too.

Been wondering about that film, if you liked that you might like two little boys starring one half of flight on the conchords. That's pretty much how I felt after watching it.
