HBarr is baaaaack!
I think I’ll be watching approximately the same amount of seven sharp as I did when Hosking was there.

Fair to say Phoebe #freeballin is a complete fucktard.

I am always astounded at the naive stupidity of people getting ripped off like that. A number of massive red flags should have tipped them off to this being suspect as hell. The Herald article was dreadful.

The article was appalling alright, why should I have sympathy for someone who has $17000 to spend on accommodation but bypasses Airbnb to save some cash gets burned and blames them?
Surely there’s enough there for Airbnb to sue? -

Surely there’s enough there for Airbnb to sue? You'd think so but journalists get an awful lot of protection for the outright bullshit they often report, they seem to get away with bloody murder at times.

Hoskings is a dick but I do like the way he triggers the hell out of the regressive lefties...

The amount of 'in your face Hoskings' posts on Fagbook when Labour won was particularly nauseating.

I picture the owner of this company and his marketing guy sitting back smoking cigars Hannibal from A team style and laughing at the free publicity Vegans and vegetarians have just given them for the price of one instagram photo. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for their snags from now on.

Vegans are fuckwits
One at work offered me a vego snack bar to which I replied the only way I'd eat it was if it was wrapped in bacon. I then said the next time she offered me something like that, I'd report her to HR for a hate crime.
I was only partially joking.

Best comment I’ve read.., ‘ if pigs aren’t meant to be eaten why are they made out of food’...

He's right. Some people obviously think their sausages and other meats are grown ready to cook in their cling fill plastic trays

I've stopped looking at the NZ Herald website. It's been a few days, and I can't say I have missed anything. Their sports reporting is terrible, basically everything but the business sucks arse. Stuff are better, which is saying something
The final straw was a reproduced press release a few days ago. Literally printed word for word. It's just so common and so rubbish.
Fark you herald.

This is such bullshit, and good on the company for not issuing an apology of any sorts. So you're offended... big fucking deal.
I don't know why the Herald even ran this story, and I really wish they didn't. Journalistic integrity is at a historic low and it's actually having an impact on society now, with companies taking massive hits to profits because of faux outrage generated for clicks.
So a few people on social fucking media got offended by something, so what? Why is that news? This is what generates the outrage culture that is so bloody erosive. Someone makes a joke, someone gets offended... then the media picks up on it and runs a story with a dramatic headline like "Kiwi sausage company grilled over 'foul, disgusting' image". Just fuck off with that bullshit.
Another example of this is H&M running an ad with a black kid wearing a hoody with the words "coolest monkey in the jungle". Completely pure intentions, and the kids mother has absolutely no problem with it. But no, somebody somewhere got offended because they think black people are monkey's (I.E. they're racist) and suddenly artists like The Weekend are boycotting H&M over something completely harmless - comparing a child to a monkey as they display the same playful characteristics. And the biggest losers are (potentially) the hard working employees at H&M who will be made redundant if their profits take a hit.
The idea that being offended somehow makes you a morally superior human being is being perpetuated through social media and bullshit media outlets running stories like this, and I for one am fucking sick of it.
In summary: if you're offended by something, I don't give a shit - grow the fuck up.
/rant over.

Welcome to to age of internet/online news. Would they have forked out for the cost of printing these stories in paper when it was the only source of news?
Fuck no, but it’s easy to run these bullshit puff pieces now. I can only assume there’s a team of untrained ‘journalists’ who’s only job is too hunt down to ‘write’ this shit. Post online then wait for the clicks. -

That reminded me of the movie about Howard Cosell and Monday Night Football in the US. He was one of Ali's biggest supporters and caused an outcry because he described a black running back as a monkey, yet he referred to his own grandson that way (that's how the movie portrayed it anyways). I call my own son a monkey on a semi-regular basis. I should book his future therapy sessions to manage his ethnic confusion syndrome and start my self flagellating now

This post is probably my favourite this year.
I follow George Takai on FB. He used to be quite funny until Trump came in now he just posts clickbait shit too. The latest of his one is millenials getting offended by watching re runs of 'Friend's'. ( yes you read that right )
Apparently Ross is a closet homophobe and Chandler won't talk to his Dad cos he is a cross dresser. The outrage in the comments section is deafening, needless to say the voices of reason stick up for it and point out that it's a good thing these Snowflakes haven't watched Married with Children.
@No-Quarter I couldn't agree more with what you have written but the scary thing is what so many of these lib snowflakes think. Apparently we're not allowed to laugh at Billy T James cos he took the piss out of....well everyone. Fuck off. Some of his comedy was genius.....
I was at a family bbq and my future father in law ( who is a fucken hilarious Maori fulla ) handed me his great granddaughter to hold. The baby instantly screamed and he laughed and said 'Bro, you're not black enough!'....classic humour.....but wouldn't be if I was a millennial. He was mocking my pigmentation and I could have been grossly offended.
If walking on fucken eggshells for fear of offending anyone is the future of the world then count me as one of the proud old school who'll never change.

Post online then wait for the clicks.Yeah, the internet has changed journalism for the worse. As you say the cost of printing, but also the way advertising revenue is based on how many clicks a particular story gets, which leads to the media trying to over dramatize everything to maximize clicks for more revenue. So anything that may cause "outrage" gets front and centre.
