You might be in a band of one about Oscar. A very talented actor, he was very watchable in Ex Machina.
But actually, so was the Hux dude, and I hate his performance in TLJ.
It's not relevant how he was in another movie. His performance in both Star Wars was mediocre. BB8 is a better actor.
He wouldn't be the first actor to be made to look poor by a SW film
I don't exactly expect De Niro or Day Lewis. But I expect better than Poe.....

You’ve been saying he’s a poor actor, and there is plenty of evidence he’s pretty good.
Now if you don’t like the performance in this film, that’s a completely different thing. And it doesn’t fall just on his shoulders. You can be screwed by the script, the director or months later by the editor.
I didn’t like how the character was handled, waiting to digest it all a bit before I go see it again.

Oscar Isaac has been a great actor in a number of movies, most notable Inside Llewyn Davis where he gave a very subtle performance. I can't claim to be an expert in what makes a good actor but he seems to be able to play a range of different roles and disappears into them very well.

Watched TLJ once more. Ultimately it's a let down. It's honestly down with Phantom Menace in my personal rankings, some genuinely outstanding scenes notwithstanding.
No Star Wars film in history has even come close to introducing so many unlikable, irritating, pointless, shithouse characters.
