Movie review thread...

On Black Panther, I thought Andy Serkis was great as Klaue. The Okoye was good too.
It was an enjoyable movie but not the best Marvel flick as some had suggested with the preview hype. But Marvel hasn't really missed a trick yet compared to DC.
@Hooroo I thought the teasers were lame. You can throw the audience a bone without giving away any plot details.

Agreed about the teasers.
It would be in my top 5 marvel flicks so far. Serkis was excellent and it was only when he died that I realised who it was and told my mate that Gollum just died and then he saw it!

I don't think Black Panther is in my top 5.
In no particular order they would be: Avengers, Guardians 1, Thor Ragnarok, The Winter Soldier, Civil War.
Bottom 5: Thor 1 and 2, Iron Man 2, Age if Ultron, The Incredible Hulk.
Everything else in between.
Pretty close to mine. I would probably swap out Civil War for Spiderman.
And Thor 1 for Captain America 1.

Captain America
Iron Man 1 -

Yeah, the Marvel Spiderman was great!
I wasn't a huge fan of Capt 1 when I first saw it, but I actually liked way more when watching it before Civil War - we watched it and Winter Soldier the night before seeing Civil War as one of my mates hadn't seen them.

I was looking at this last week.

Super hero / Comic Book Movies .... I only have a top 4.
Iron Man
The Dark Knight Trilogy.Captain America was ok, Avengers was ok ... rest I've found a bit meh. I thought Paul Rudd was miscast in Antman. As I love Paul Rudd, but he didn't seem to really suit the role I thought.

Iron Man ( the first one), Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2, Thor Ragnarok are the stand outs for me. Enjoyed the first Avengers one, was great to see them all together after a few years of building it with seperate films/stories ( something DC failed with)
Like Captain America as a character too tho his last 2 stand alone films have tried to take things too seriously.
Prefer the lightness of GOTG and Thor 3.
Previously found the first 2 Thor films to be a bit drab and boring.
Will be seeing Black Panther this weekend so hoping it lives up to the hype -

Dark Knight jus shows how much DC have dropped the ball since they rebooted it.

Those first two are the only ones I remotely like. I guess I have a thing for flawed billionaires with cool gadgets.

“The Shape of Water,” new Del Toro, very good, fairy tale on the Beauty & Beast with Creature From the Black Lagoon, characters lack nuance, some real dumb plot points and barely necessary scenes with shitloads of virtue-signalling, over-rated, but still very-very good. 3.5/5
I saw “I, Tonya” for a 2nd time and liked it just as much as when it opened, if only for the scene of Harding skating at Nationals to ZZ Top’s awesome “Sleeping Bag,” makes me laugh every time. Her mom is scary-amazing.
